First Month of Sports Betting in Maine is Successful
December 7, 2023Sunday Night Football Same Game Parlay: Eagles vs. Cowboys
December 8, 2023It was a good last week with my NFL same-game three-wager parlay hitting at BetRivers sportsbook in the Bengals-Jaguars Monday Night Football matchup. Looking to build off that nice payday I’ll take a swing at NFL wagers for the Week 14 MNF schedule. And I say schedule since there are two games on the MNF slate giving bettors options for their NFL same-game parlay with both contests having playoff implications, at least for one of the teams involved in each game.
The NFC match has the Green Bay Packers looking to extend their winning streak to four games visiting the New York Giants. The Packers are one of four teams entering the week tied for the final two playoff spots in the conference. Green Bay is laying a converted touchdown on the NFL betting line. The other tilt has the AFC co-leading Miami Dolphins entertaining the Tennessee Titans. With three straight wins the Fins tied Baltimore atop the conference and they also look to stay perfect at home where they are 5-0 and 4-1 as an NFL pick against the spread. The Dolphins are a 13-point favorite on the NFL latest line, the biggest on the Week 14 board.

I’ll set the stage for same-game parlay picks by reliving the past. Last week’s MNF matchup was good since I backed the Bengals at +8.5. Not only did Cincy stay within the spread they won the game outright thanks to Jake Browning’s coming out party. Another of my picks had the Bengals eclipsing their point total, which was set at 14.5. After a scoreless first quarter the Bengals tallied 14 points in the second and went OVER the total early in the third. They won the game 34-31 in overtime. My third NFL wager on that same-game parlay was Trevor Lawrence passing for more than 243 yards. He eclipsed that number before exiting late in the fourth quarter due to injury.
Fans are witnessing a first in the NFL with two Monday night games kicking off at the same time. We’ve seen doubleheaders in the past, including twice earlier this season, but those all had staggered start times to maximize viewership. The dilemma here is which game to pick for our same-game parlay? I’m only going with one but bettors can go crazy and play both or even crossover a parlay. But, I’ll stick with the title of this article and since I consider myself more a fan of the NFC I’ll stick with the Packers/Giants game.
Playoff races are heating up and the Packers are in the hunt after winning their previous three games. We’re not hearing much about the Giants with their hopes spent after opening with eight losses in 10 games. They didn’t cash it in, though, and doubled their win total with victories in the last two outings, covering the NFL football line both times. Thrust into the starting role with injuries to Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor, Tommy DeVito has looked more comfortable completing nearly 69 percent of his passes with four TDs and zero interceptions over the last two games. Still, the offense has struggled with points likely hard to come by for both sides giving value to backing the G-Men and the points as a NFL betting pick.
With wins over Kansas City, Detroit and the Chargers the last three games, the Packers are on a roll. But you have to wonder where the enthusiasm was in losses to Atlanta and Vegas. Defensively the Packers did a nice job shutting down prolific offenses holding the last three opponents to an average of 20.3 points. The Giants can’t match the firepower of those clubs which is why points will be scarce. A NFL best bet for my parlay is backing the UNDER on a total of 37.
When I saw the passing yards total for DeVito at 171.5 I had to do a double take. That’s low for any QB, even one who leads the worst passing attack in the NFL. That’s not all DeVito’s fault since he just took over the starting role. However, with the Packers susceptible to the run and Saquon Barkley looking to have a breakout game we could see a lot of him. The Pack is 30th against the run and allows 4.5 yards per attempt. Wanting to keep DeVito out of pressure situations, I’m doubling down on Barkley for more than 70.5 rushing yards on more than 15 carries as a NFL best bet.
Giants +7
Giants / Packers UNDER 37 Points
Saquon Barkley OVER 70.5 Rushing Yards
Saquon Barkley OVER 15.5 Rush Attempts
