February 12, 2024As Super Bowl LVIII approaches, fans and NFL bettors alike are eagerly speculating on who will be named the game’s Most Valuable Player (MVP). The Super Bowl MVP award is one of the most prestigious accolades in football, with past winners including legendary players such as Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, and Joe Montana. The odds for the Super Bowl LVIII MVP award have been generating much excitement and discussion among sports enthusiasts for months. Bettors are studying player statistics, team dynamics, and previous performances to make informed decisions on who they believe will shine on the grandest stage of them all. I’ve dug into the numbers, listened to my gut, and put my money down on these guys at Caesars Sportsbook.
Bet Super Bowl LVIII Props at Caesars Sportsbook
Favorite to Bet: Christian McCaffrey +400
It’s time to put the woman and children to bed and go looking for dinner! If you took a gander at my running back props for LVIII, you’ll know I’m just a tad bit bullish on Christian McCaffrey going nuclear Sunday night to allow the San Francisco 49ers to hoist the Lombardi Trophy for the sixth time in franchise history. While Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, George Kittle, and Brock Purdy are all fantastic, it’s RUN CMC that’s been the straw to stir the Niners drink ever since coming over from the Carolina Panthers in Week 7 of last season. A picture of No. 23’s mug pops up when you look up the definition of consistently awesome in the Webster’s Dictionary!
All kidding aside, McCaffrey was in his own stratosphere this season. I think it’s a crying shame that he’s received absolutely zero recognition towards winning the regular season MVP. This will be his consolation prize. The 49ers rushing attack couldn’t have asked for a better matchup than this at this stage of the game. Kansas City simply isn’t prepared to withstand the onslaught it’s about to receive through four quarters of NFL football should game script allow McCaffrey to do his thing. There’s a reason the Super Bowl betting line hasn’t moved even though the defending champion Chiefs are hogging all the bets and money. It’s because San Francisco is the better team and its RB1 is one of the main reasons why.
Underdog to Bet: Rashee Rice +6000
If I’m flat-out wrong and Kansas City ultimately ends up winning another Super Bowl under Andy Reid’s watch, it’s highly likely Patrick Mahomes takes home the hardware for the third time in his illustrious career. But what kind of fun is betting the chalk favorite at Caesars?! Though a wide receiver has taken home the Super Bowl MVP Award two of the last five seasons, it’s been an anomaly. Dating back to the turn of the century, a pass catcher has won the award a grand total of five times. However, Rashee Rice has been No. 15’s most dependable target all season long and I think the rookie plays much older than his age suggests. He’s put forth some HAM efforts recently, and it wouldn’t shock me in the least if he proved to be Mahomes’ biggest producer with the amount of attention Travis Kelce will be getting from San Francisco’s uber-talented linebacker corps.
Longshot to Bet: Dre Greenlaw +200000
Speaking of the Niners linebackers, Dre Greenlaw is my longshot dart throw to take home this award with the amount of work he and his teammates will put in looking to erase the middle of the field from the Kansas City Chiefs plan of attack. Easier said than done however, but Greenlaw – and Fred Warner (+10000) – each deserve looks at this rate of return. If Kelce is drastically limited and turnovers are accrued and or taken back to the house, it’s certainly within the realm of possibility that the award goes to a defensive player. It’s only happened three times since the turn of the century, but I wouldn’t put it past a defensive player taking home bragging rights. The betting market looks to be dead set on this one turning into a barnburner. If it doesn’t and a defensive play ultimately decides the final outcome in a lower scorer, Greenlaw and Co. will be live. With that, I’ve taken beer money fliers on each just in case it comes to fruition.
