Regardless of the rematch taking place on the Blue Demons’ home court, I anticipate that sportsbooks will set the opening line at a similar point spread as the previous game. However, with a highly anticipated matchup against Marquette on Saturday, it’s likely that the Huskies will approach this game with a more casual attitude, focusing their attention on the Golden Eagles. In my opinion, this mindset will give DePaul an opportunity to break their streak of failing to cover the spread in the past three games. So, I’ll take the points and bet on DePaul.

Given the dominant performance in the initial encounter, I anticipate that bookmakers will increase the over/under line for the rematch. This presents an opportunity for total bettors to consider the under as a valuable option. In games where UConn has been favored by double digits, the over has been successful in 8 out of 14 instances, with nearly 138 points scored on average. DePaul, ranked 187th in tempo rating according to KenPom, will try to push the pace. However, their efforts may be thwarted by UConn’s formidable defense, ranked 17th in AdjD nationally. If they can replicate this level of ball security, it is plausible that the rematch results in a low-scoring affair with the Huskies simply going through the motions to secure victory and hone in on the weekend’s much stiffer test.

Utah State Aggies vs. Wyoming Cowboys

These teams faced off in Logan on January 9^th in a game Utah State emerged victorious with a score of 83-59. The game saw Utah State’s offense dominate, particularly in their ability to score close to the basket. Utah State’s exceptional 2-point shooting percentage, ranked 12th in the nation, proved to be too much for Wyoming’s 323rd ranked 2-point defense. This offensive prowess allowed Utah State to comfortably surpass their team total and average an impressive 1.262 points per possession. On the defensive end, Utah State’s league-average turnover percentage caused problems for Wyoming’s ball handlers, resulting in 15 turnovers. The outcome of the rematch will depend on how well Utah State can limit Wyoming’s long-range shooting. In their previous matchup, Utah State’s ninth-ranked perimeter defense held Wyoming to 5-of-18 shooting from beyond the arc. While Wyoming’s recent performance from downtown has been less than stellar, they have the potential to challenge Utah State, who may be looking ahead to this weekend’s game against Colorado State. Ultimately, I believe Utah State will secure the win, but Wyoming will make them work for it.

The under cashed in the first meeting pushing the under to 4-2 in the last six meetings with a paltry 138.8 scoring average accrued. It would be ideal if bookmakers offer a reduced price for the rematch due to the low scoring of the previous match, but it is unlikely. Therefore, we can expect the O/U line to be set around 150. In league play, these teams have combined for 12 overs and 10 unders. However, it is worth noting that five of the Aggies’ six overs occurred when playing away from home at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. On the other hand, the Cowboys have been successful in cashing over tickets in front of their hometown fans, with a record of 4-1 and nearly 160 points tallied per game.
