February 20, 2024Bet World Series Futures Odds at Caesars Sportsbook
February 21, 2024Unlike last week, when most of the world’s top golfers were in the field for The Genesis Invitational, this week’s Mexico Open at Vidanta has just four players ranked in the Top 50 in the field. Defending champion Tony Finau leads the way and he is listed as the favorite at odds of +600 at Caesars. It is a big jump to the next player on the golf betting odds board, as Nicolai Hojgaard is listed at +1600. The only other player listed at odds of less than +2000 is Taylor Pendrith at odds of +1800. Let’s look at Mexico Open at Vidanta odds with a focus on some longshots with the picks.

Favorite
Tony Finau +650
The losing for golf betting favorites continued again last week as Scottie Scheffler was never in contention. The field this week is not very strong, so you can make a case for taking Finau to win in Mexico, but as I say every week, I am not taking favorites to win a golf tournament except on very rare occasions.
Golf Picks
Keith Mitchell +3500
I think Mitchell is definitely capable of winning this event. One of the key stats this week is Strokes Gained: Off the Tee. Mitchell ranks highly in that category and considering the strength of this field, he is definitely capable of being in contention.
Cameron Champ +4500
I am not a big fan of Champ, but I recognize there is one thing he can do well and that is hit the ball a long way. This course at Vidanta is all about length off the tee. Champ ranks highly in driving distance and in Shots Gained: Off the Tee. I’ll take a flyer on him at these odds.
Jhonattan Vegas +5500
Vegas played well in Scottsdale last time out and even though he doesn’t win that often, in this field he is a standout with three career PGA Tour wins. He ranks highly in our key stat this week, Shots Gained: Off the Tee. He is definitely capable of being in contention this week.
Sam Stevens +7000
Stevens is another player who ranks highly in this week’s key stats. He also comes in playing pretty well, as he was 28th at the WM Phoenix Open. He should love the wide fairways this week and I think he is a live longshot.
Sami Valimaki +12500
Valimaki is known more for his play on the DP World Tour, but he has been getting more experience lately on the PGA Tour. He played well at the WM Phoenix Open and his driving stats are really good. He has proven in the past he can win, as he has two wins on the DP World Tour. I think he is worth a shot at big odds.
Patton Kizzire +12500
Another player I think is a live longshot is Kizzire. He doesn’t win that often, but when he gets in contention he knows how to finish. I think his distance off the tee will play well this week and at least he is a proven winner.
