Mississippi Online Sports Betting Gets Closer
April 4, 2024Sunday, April 7 NBA Parlay Picks
April 5, 2024By all relatable metrics the opening weekend of the United Football League season was a success. Television ratings were good considering what the league was up against and for the most part the games were close and entertaining. And I’m not gonna lie it was a bonus for me on my UFL picks and parlays at Caesars sportsbook. While the league is new it is a combination of teams that were around last spring, so there is some information to use. However, turnover in spring football is monumental so what we saw from a team last year is no way relatable.
The San Antonio Brahmas are a good example of how things changed. Going just 3-7 in the XFL last year, the Brahmas started fast under new coach Wade Phillips beating the DC Defenders outright, 27-12, as a 6-point underdog on the UFL betting line. Most expect the two-time USFL champion Birmingham Stallions to be a force and they showed why in a 27-14 win over last year’s XFL champion Arlington Renegades. The Stallions covered as a 3.5-point favorite giving me two wins on the UFL line. The UFL futures favorite Stallions are on the road for a second straight week as the biggest favorite on the Week 2 opening betting board laying 6-points to the Michigan Panthers.

Week 2 UFL Parlay Picks
I went into the opening set of games with little to go on and so did the oddsmakers, which kind of evened the playing field. There wasn’t much offense in Week 1 with all four contests cashing the UNDER. Every game had a total of 41.5 or higher and the UFL odds have been adjusted. The highest total on the Week 2 opening line is 41. I snared a winner on my parlay backing the UNDER on 42.5 in the Battlehawks and Panthers game. It paid off when the teams combined for 34 points with a 64-yard game-winning field goal from Michigan’s Jake Bates getting the score that high. I don’t want to ruin a good start to the UFL betting season with a poor followup so I’ll do my best to keep the streak going.
St. Louis -5.5
Birmingham -6
Houston / DC UNDER 40.5

It was a frustrating Week 1 loss for St. Louis especially since they had the advantage in a number of stat categories. The defense intercepted two passes and held Michigan to 280 total yards. However the Battlehawks produced just three points off those turnovers, were 5 of 15 on third down conversions and 2 of 4 inside the red zone. Those aren’t numbers you’d expect from a team led by a veteran QB. A.J. McCarron was solid completing 24 of 37 with a pair of touchdowns, and I anticipate the team will be more successful since they are playing at home where Battlehawks easily had the best support of any team in the XFL last season.
The Stallions didn’t skip a beat picking up right where they left off last season. And they got an impressive debut from former NFL draft pick Matt Corral in a balanced effort in a double-digit win over Arlington. Once again Birmingham is a favorite on the UFL betting line and will likely be so in many more games considering the number of returning players from a championship squad that’s gone 22-3 since 2002. It’s hard to jump on the bandwagon after one game but backing the Stallions as a UFL pick against the spread is the right move.
Houston and DC did little offensively in Week 1 each scoring a mere 12 points with their games coming up short of the total. So, the UFL play would be to back the UNDER but like we saw in previous spring leagues the offense tends to catch up rather quickly. However, I’m not betting on that happening this week. Houston’s defense is formidable with Reuben Foster helping limit Memphis to just 18 points and it will be a problem for Jordan Ta’amu on Sunday. The game will be close but it won’t have a lot of points forcing me to back the UNDER on the UFL odds.
