Sunday, April 14 NBA Parlay Picks

A schedule consisting of 15 games with all 30 teams in action on Sunday, April 14 brings the 2023-24 NBA regular season to a conclusion. It’s been an incredible journey for the Boston Celtics, who clinched the top seed in the Eastern Conference like three weeks ago and a week later locked down the best overall record. It was a big win for the Bucks who followed the Boston game by defeating Orlando after a brutal four-game slide. The Bucks won both games against the NBA point spread but will be without Giannis Antetokounmpo in their rematch with the Magic. And speaking of the Magic they are the most profitable team as a NBA pick against the spread with payouts in 62.5 percent of their games. Their cover rate is even higher in their home games. Playoff seedings are still up for grabs making for some exciting games, and all will be determined by the end of the day.

Turns out I need another chance at a NBA parlay after last week’s losing ticket. It’s been a few weeks since I had a winner and ending the campaign with a four-teamer is a great way to lower the curtain on the season. That doesn’t mean we’re done with NBA parlays with the play-in tournament starting Tuesday and the playoffs opening next weekend. But if you prefer making NBA bets on the Charlotte Hornets or Memphis Grizzlies, this is your last chance.

Betting the Hornets is an option since they are playing their final game under coach Steve Clifford, who announced a few weeks ago he’s stepping down at season’s end. They also beat Atlanta on Wednesday giving them a split of their last four games while going 3-1 on the NBA line in those games. They don’t have a lot of wins this season but one of their most recent victories was over the Cleveland Cavaliers at the end of March. They’ve been competitive in a lot of games recently and will play with some emotion to stay within the NBA point spread.

Playing for a top 6 gives the Phoenix Suns plenty of incentive in their matchup with the Timberwolves. And for some reason they’ve had Minnesota’s number this season winning both games while covering the NBA point spread each time. And they’ve done it in different ways with a 133-115 shootout in the first meeting and a 97-87 defensive struggle last week. I’ll back the Suns playing with a sense of urgency.

Getting the Bucks at home in the rematch is a plus for Orlando. The Magic are much better on their own floor with the third-most home wins in the Eastern Conference. And the Bucks are below .500 on the road and without two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo. While I wanted to back Orlando on the NBA betting line I decided to wager on the UNDER with both teams showing improved defensive intensity. 

I’ll celebrate my four-team NBA parlay win when the Houston Rockets and LA Clippers cash the OVER on the NBA odds. The Rockets made a run at a play-in spot thanks to an 11-game winning streak. That dream ended when they followed with a five-game losing skid. One thing they did during those 16 games was play with offensive freedom. It also caused some problems on defense, but OVER bettors had a good time with the Rockets exceeding the total in 12 of those games. Look for more points in this one making the OVER a NBA best bet.
