MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Tuesday, April 23
April 22, 20242024 NFL Draft Betting – AFC East 1st Drafted Positions at Caesars Sportsbook
April 23, 2024It was a mixed bag for last Wednesday’s MLB parlay picks after kicking the day off in style after Luis Severino and the Mets cruised to the comfy win over the Pirates. For one reason or another, the Braves couldn’t get to J.P. France as expected and needed extra innings to go over their team total. While Andrew Abbott exceeded his total outs prop, the Reds only managed one hit against Bryce Miller and lost 5-1. Let’s aim for more consistent success in attacking the MLB odds at Caesars Sportsbook looking for winning parlay legs this time around – SLAM YOUR MAN!!
Bet Major League Baseball at Caesars Sportsbook
Detroit Tigers vs. Tampa Bay Rays
The Tigers will wrap their three-game set in “The Trop” on Hump Day night with Jack Flaherty set to square off against Tyler Alexander in a battle of arms that’ve gotten out to decent starts. Flaherty has seamlessly settled into Detroit’s rotation having gone six innings in all four starts. Though 0-1 with a 4.44 ERA, his FIP clocks in at 3.76 and he’s averaging a whopping 7.5 strikeouts per walk. Tampa’s sticks have been impotent versus right-handed pitching in averaging 3.7 runs per game (#24) to go along with a .668 OPS (#21). Runs should be tough to come by with No. 9 on the bump.
It likely won’t be fun and games for the Tigers bats either running up against Alexander’s off-speed arsenal of sinkers, cutters, and sweepers that dart all over the zone. Detroit has been nearly equally as bad against LHP (#19) as it has RHP (#23), and has hit the third fewest home runs in the league which bodes well for Alexander considering he’s served up 2.2 per nine innings. This has sneaky low scorer written all over it that could see each hurler go deep to exceed their total pitching out props.

Chicago White Sox vs. Minnesota Twins
A pair of starters with bones to pick will square off in the third game of this extended series when the White Sox and Twins battle it out in the Twin Cities. Garrett Crochet was the twinkle of every fantasy baseballer’s eye early on after racking up 16 strikeouts and only allowing 2 ER in his first two starts against the Tigers and Braves. Since then, the left-hander has been tattooed for 14 ER and took losses in his last two turns. This looks to be a solid get-right spot running up against a Minnesota offense that’s 1-3 and averaged just 3.0 runs per game the four times it stared back at a southpaw.
Joe Ryan has alternated decent and poor starts in his four total trips to the bump. The last one was poor after allowing seven hits (1 HR) and 4 ER through 5.1 innings against the weak hitting Tigers. It was however his second straight made start against Detroit. No team in the league has been worse against RHP than that of the Palehose who are batting .189 as a team and averaging 2.2 runs per game. The under is 14-2 in those matchups and Ryan allowed eight hits and 4 ER with a 17:3 K/BB ratio through two starts against the White Sox last season. With each pitcher throwing with respective chips on their shoulder, I expect each to flourish ultimately leading to a low scoring pitcher’s duel.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Kansas City Royals
Toronto rookie Yariel Rodriguez was just stretched out to 83 pitches for his second MLB start against the Padres in Petco. Unfortunately, the output only saw the rookie pitch through four innings preventing him from logging the first big league win of his career after the Blue Jays cruised to the 5-1 win. It’s mostly 4-seamers and sliders for the youngster, and per Baseball Savant, those are two pitch types Salvador Perez and co. have handled with ease evidenced by a number of positive run values within the Royals respective batting lineup. KC has been one of the better under bets in the league to this point of the MLB betting season (8-13-1), but it’s played to high scorers in Kauffman four of the last six times.
Alec Marsh is nothing short of a backend of the rotation starter with middling career outputs. He’s gotten out to a hot start with the Royals benefitting having come out triumphant all four times he toed the starting bump. I foresee some negative regression coming his way in this one against a BJ’s offense that’s gained confidence in winning each of its last four series. I don’t foresee either starter seeing the sixth inning let alone the fifth in a game I expect the offenses to dominate right from the opening pitch.
