NFL Receiving Yards Leader Odds & Picks
October 20, 2022Does the Big 12 Title Run Through Manhattan?
October 20, 2022There is only one Western team left in the 2022 League of Legends World Championship, and they are by far the biggest underdog per the Esports betting odds for the quarterfinals this week. Rogue managed to beat out Top Esports for the second spot in Group C, but no one is giving them much of a chance against overall favorites JD Gaming. If they lose, the only teams left at Worlds will be from Korea or China, guaranteeing a winner from either the LCK or LPL for the 10th straight year.
2022 League of Legends Worlds Quarterfinals Betting Odds
JD Gaming -1200
Rogue +600
The most impressive team in the Group Stage of Worlds was JD Gaming. They went 5-1 and beat 2020 World Champions DWG KIA for the top spot in the group. Kanavi has been one of the top junglers in the world for the last three years, but the addition of top laner 369 may have put JDG over the top. We have seen 369 show that he can play weakside tanks and hard win his lane with champions like Fiora and Aatrox, so Rogue’s Odoamne will have a very difficult time in the laning phase in this series.
Honestly, it’s hard to see a path to victory for Rogue. Larssen is the most talented player on the team, and he leads the team in KDA and damage percentage. He has played well on Azir, Orianna, and Viktor, but he isn’t always in sync with his teammates. Comp isn’t a great bottom laner, so support Trymbi and jungler Malrang will have to be at the top of their game if Rogue is going to have a chance of pulling off the upset.
T1 -250
Royal Never Give Up +175
Right now, the big concern is how healthy Royal Never Give Up will be after four of their starters had COVID last week. RNG looked like they would win their group until COVID ravaged their roster, and it was clear they weren’t at their best during the second round robin on Sunday. The few days of rest will certainly help, but there’s a good chance this team is at a disadvantage once more.
This has the potential to be the best quarterfinal of the bunch if RNG is healthy. There are incredible battles in all three lanes, and it would be a disappointment if it didn’t go five games. T1 mid laner Faker is the most decorated player in the history of the game, while Xiaohu is arguably the best player that has never won Worlds. GALA has been heralded as the best AD Carry in the world by some analysts, but T1’s Keria might be the best support in the game. Top laners Breathe and Zeus might be the best two players at the position in this competition, and with so much talent on both sides, it’s best to go with the underdogs provided they are somewhat healthy.
Gen.G -400
DWG KIA +275
The only team that was able to give Gen.G trouble over a five-game series in the LCK was DWG KIA. These teams had some epic clashes in domestic play, but Gen.G always came out on top. Given their dominance in the LCK, there’s no doubt that Gen.G should be favored by the League of Legends betting odds in this series, but they are too big of a favorite. DWG KIA has been building to this moment since bringing back Nuguri, and they are arguably more talented than the team that won Worlds in 2020 when everything is going right.
Edward Gaming -188
DRX +137
This is considered the least competitive of the four quarterfinals even though Edward Gaming are the defending Worlds Champions. Edward Gaming lost both of their matches with T1 in the Group Stage, and they are dealing with a COVID outbreak.
Meanwhile, DRX might be the least talented team in the quarterfinals. The LCK’s No. 4 seed was not supposed to make it to Worlds, and they don’t have a truly elite player at any position. They are team fighting well and have an old veteran in Deft, but it’s hard to have a lot of faith in this roster.
