LIV Golf Hong Kong Odds and Picks
March 6, 2024Friday, March 8 NBA Parlay Picks
March 6, 2024The Arnold Palmer Invitational begins on Thursday and it is a Signature Event so that means a $20 million dollar prize purse, including $4 million for first place. The world’s top golfers are in Florida led by World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler who is listed as the betting favorite at Caesars. Unlike last week at the Cognizant Classic, the field for the Arnold Palmer Invitational is strong, with eight of the top ten in the latest World Golf Rankings in the field. I am coming off a 2-3 week with the matchups at the Cognizant Classic but I am still 10-6 with the matchups in the last three weeks. Let’s look at Arnold Palmer Invitational matchup picks.

Defending Champion: Kurt Kitayama
Tournament Notes: Bay Hill is a par 72 that measures 7,466 yards. Driving is important on this long course, but accuracy off the tee is almost as important as distance, as the rough is long and the greens are tough to hit. The conditions on Thursday and Friday should be good, but winds will kick up on Saturday and rain and wind could be in the mix for Sunday.

Golf Matchup Picks
Harris English -140 vs. Kurt Kitayama
English is playing well of late with a number of Top 25 finishes. He has played well at Bay Hill in the past including a 2nd in 2023. English has been driving the ball well lately and we know that driving stats are very important this week. I know Kitayama is the defending champ, but I think that was more of a fluke than anything else. I’ll take English in this matchup.
Cameron Young -140 vs. Tom Kim
I think Kim is going to be a future star but right now I think Young is the better golfer. Young has played well on tough courses in the past, including four finishes in the top eight in his last seven majors. He has played well at Bay Hill in the past with a 13th in 2022 and 10th in 2023. I’ll take Young in this matchup.
Keegan Bradley -120 vs. Russell Henley
The one longshot I took in the odds preview was Bradley. We’ll see if Henley can drive it far enough to be competitive this week. He is accurate, but on this course, you need distance and accuracy. I’ll lay the small price and take Bradley in this matchup.
Wyndham Clark +100 vs. Chris Kirk
This is similar to the last matchup, as I don’t know that Kirk has the distance to be competitive. He does well on shorter courses but this course is long and if you lack distance you have to be really great in terms of accuracy. I also think Clark is simply the better golfer and should be favored in this matchup.
Sam Burns -115 vs. Collin Morikawa
Burns has four top 10 finishes of late. He is seventh on the PGA Tour in Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee and he is first in scrambling. He tied for 9th in this event in 2022. I said last week about Fitzpatrick that I think he is a bit overrated and I think the same thing about Morikawa. He hasn’t done much at Bay Hill in his career and I simply think Burns is the better golfer.
