NCAAB Futures Odds Betting – Alabama has the Look of a Title Contender
January 18, 2023NHL Picks – Tampa Bay Lightning at Edmonton Oilers
January 18, 2023The Purdue Boilermakers are the toast of the Big 10 with the college basketball betting season entering the middle of January. Matt Painter’s squad has only been upended once through seven tries in B1G play and remains the decided -200 favorite to win the regular season crown. Though Zach Edey is the current frontrunner to win the Wooden Award and Fletcher Loyer has taken a page out of big bro’s handbook by draining every shot from deep, I’m not buying what the Boilers are selling over at BetRivers Sportsbook and neither should you!
I recommend adding the teams listed below to the Big Ten futures portfolio with their current rates of return simply just too juicy to let the books get away with. Each will be back in the thick of the B1G title race, so fire on them now before any value is lost.

Iowa Hawkeyes +3000
After doing its wagering supporters dirty bowing out in the second round of the NCAA tournament, Fran McCaffery has got the Hawkeyes back on the up and up. Since dropping four of five and three straight to Wisconsin (OT), Eastern Illinois, Nebraska, and Penn State, the proverbial switch has flipped. Over the course of the team’s current four-game win streak, they’ve taken down Indiana, Michigan and Maryland at home and also went into the RAC to hand Rutgers its only home defeat in B1G play.
Kris Murray is arguably the best player in the conference, and is the ringleader of KenPom’s sixth most efficient offense in the country. Should Iowa start winning games away from Carver-Hawkeye Arena with regularity, it’s going to have a large say in how this conference shakes up. Fire on the Hawkeyes now or sit back and see how the carnage plays out with tough games upcoming at Ohio State and Michigan State.
Michigan Wolverines +3500
While the defense leaves a bit to be desired (No. 80), I simply must take a stab here with the Wolverines knowing full well Juwan Howard will at some point have both ends of the court firing on all cylinders. Hunter Dickinson is a man beast that no team in the B1G can contend with evidenced by the 17.8 points and 8.9 rebounds he’s accrued on a gamely basis. With youngsters Jett Howard and Kobe Bufkin starting to come into their own, it’s only a matter of time until the Maize and Blue start putting it all together.
The team entered the year just over 4-1 choices to win the regular season title. After dropping back-to-back games at Michigan State and Iowa we’re getting nearly 9x value from the +415 opener. If this team figures out a way to start winning away from Ann Arbor – look out! With @Maryland and Minnesota next up on the docket, it’s likely their odds of winning the B1G are slashed in half the next time we report on the future odds.
Ohio State Buckeyes +3500
Though Chris Holtmann has taken the Buckeyes to the Big Dance four of his first five seasons overlooking the program, the Columbus natives are undoubtedly getting tired of not making it past the first weekend of the tourney. While last year’s second round bow out to Villanova as 5-point dogs paled in comparison to losing to Oral Roberts in the first round as 15-point favorites the year prior, there’s been limited growth within the program. Though OSU stands 10-7 SU and 2-4 in conference and is in the midst of a three-game losing streak, I still love the overall talent on this squad.
Freshman Brice Sensabaugh is a major difference maker and bigs Justin Sueing and Zed Key are two of the best in the B1G by a country mile. Purdue and Rutgers are the only two teams ranked higher than the Buckeyes by KenPom. Both games already lost to the Scarlet Knights and Boilers could’ve just as easily been won. This ship looks to be on the verge of being righted with three of their last four losses coming by an average of just 3.0 points per game. The upcoming schedule looks ripe for the Buckeyes to make a run, so buy now before their rate of return gets sliced and diced!
