NHL Picks – Carolina Hurricanes at Buffalo Sabres
January 31, 2023ACC Futures Odds Betting – A Path is there for the Miami Hurricanes
February 1, 2023Last I reported on the Big 12 college basketball futures odds, the Kansas Jayhawks were kicking butt and taking names rattling off eight straight wins and getting out to a 2-0 SU and ATS start in conference play. The win streak reached 10 straight before dropping its first B12 matchup at K-State. That loss was followed up with two more defeats against TCU and @Baylor. KU’s brief demise allowed for the Texas Longhorns to sneak through the backdoor and claim the top overall seed in the standings as we close out the month of January.
With six teams separated by no more than two games and nine or so games remaining on each team’s respective docket, it’s once again time to put the BetRivers Sportsbook conference futures odds under the microscope and see if any line value is escaping the eye. Here’s a trio of teams you should think about adding to the portfolio right now!

Kansas State Wildcats +350
Being a diehard fan of the Kansas Jayhawks, it pains me to entertain the thought of the Kansas State Wildcats winning the Big 12 this season. That being said, Jerome Tang has done a bang up job molding the Wildcats new-look roster into his vision and the program is flourishing because of it. Per KenPom, K-State clocks in as one of the more balanced teams in the country when it comes to efficiency with the offense ranked No. 31 and defense No. 28. On top of that, it takes care of business at the charity stripe (No. 44), forces turnovers (No. 42), and plays a lockdown brand of defense along the perimeter (No. 10).
The next eight days will give CBB bettors a better idea as to whether this team is for real or just another run of the mill Big 12 team playing in the best conference in the land. It’s got to go into the Phog to battle revenge-minded Kansas on Super Tuesday and will then take on Texas and TCU at home. Earn a winning record in those contests and there will be no denying Markquis Nowell and Keyontae Johnson the rest of the way. I hate to say it, but the story of the college basketball betting season just might be going down in Manhattan, KS!
Baylor Bears +800
I had a feeling it would only be a matter of time until Scott Drew’s kids started to click. Since dropping three straight @Iowa State, TCU, and Kansas State, the Baylor Bears have rattled off six straight wins (4-1-1 ATS) before falling 76-71 at Texas on Monday night. Though it failed to show out in the loss to the Longhorns, I’ve come away extremely impressed with Baylor at the offensive end of the court. It’s currently the second most efficient attack per the current Pomeroy Ratings. That ranking is extremely aided by the team clocking in as the seventh-best offensive rebounding team in the country.
There’s no stopping this offense when the guard trio of Adam Flagler, LJ Cryer, and Keyonte George are firing on all cylinders! It’s a nasty unit with Jalen Bridges and Flo Thamba attacking the glass. While the remaining road schedule isn’t a walk in the park, the Bears still got Texas and Iowa State paying Waco a visit at the tail end of the regular season. Baylor will be in it to win it provided they show well versus KU, K-State, and TCU on the road before that.
TCU Horned Frogs +850
Tough sell to back Jamie Dixon’s squad right now with the heart and soul of the team – Mike Miles Jr. – out of commission due to a hyperextended knee. However, the Horned Frogs are still my choice to win the regular season title when it’s all said and done due to its tendency of playing at a breakneck pace (No. 50) with no other team in the land able to hold a candle to its effectiveness on the fast break. I’d feel better about this recommendation if all the pertinent pieces were in place, but Eddie Lampkin Jr. will also be back before you know it.
TCU still gets Baylor, Kansas, and Texas in Ft. Worth and already handled K-State with ease back on January 14. If it can win those games and even the season rivalry with Iowa State in the middle of February, the Horney Toads will have a large say in how this conference ultimately shakes up. Even with all the walking wounded, TCU is offering up the same rate of return it did a month ago. This squad’s got staying power folks!
