With four belts on the line and two of the best at their craft going at it, fights like this don’t happen often. Interest at boxing betting sites has picked up with Crawford emerging as a -160 favorite.
Though they’ve never met in the ring, there is a history between the combatants. The two have been feuding on and off for several years sparking talk of an eventual hookup. For the longest time it appeared as though that wouldn’t happen, but with them being so dominant and owning the welterweight belts, it had to take place eventually. The No. 4 ranked pound-for-pound boxer by ESPN, Spence Jr. has fight odds of +140 as the underdog.

Spence Jr. vs. Crawford Fight Preview
With a combined 67 wins and zero losses it’s easy to see why this bout is getting so much attention. The No. 1 ranked pound-for-pound boxer by ESPN, Terence Crawford ( 39-0, 30 KOs ) puts his WBO belt on the line as the fight odds favorite in this much anticipated unification bout. Previously Crawford held the WBO lightweight title and the unified light welterweight titles. He also had a short stint as the undisputed light welterweight champion before making the move to the 147 class.
In 2017 Crawford scored a third round KO of Julius Indongo to retain his WBC, WBO and The Ring light welterweight titles. He snatched the WBA (super) and IBF light welterweight titles in the process. He never defended the titles, though, instead moving up a class to claim the WBO welterweight belt with a ninth-round TKO of Jeff Horn in June 2019. At the time that was his fourth straight stoppage and no title contender came close in the six fights since. Crawford was heavily favored on the boxing betting line in every title defense with this matchup being the closest from a fight odds standpoint in some time.
With 30 of his wins by KO Crawford displays quick and accurate hands allowing him to land a high volume of punches. And his ability to fight comfortably as a southpaw gives opponents a different look that prevents them from settling on a style. Crawford puts fighters on the defensive giving him the opportunity to be the more aggressive fighter.
Spence Jr. (28-0, 22 KOs ) has as many if not more accolades during his stellar career. It took 21 fights but ‘The Truth’ finally got a title shot against Kell Brook in 2017 battering the Brit with an 11th round KO to win the IBF welterweight title. A split decision over Shawn Porter in 2019 earned Spence the WBC belt and following a unanimous verdict against Danny Garcia, he won the WBA (super) welterweight crown with a 10th round TKO of Yordenis Ugas last year.
With a KO rate of 78.5 percent, Spence can end a fight at any time. His blows are powerful and plentiful, just ask Ugas. In their bout 15 months ago, Spence landed a whopping 216 punches and outperformed Ugas 192 to 77 in power punches. Spence showed off his power by rearranging the faces of Brook and Ugas in separate fights displaying the raw power that’s made him one of the sport’s top pound-for-pound boxers.
Both fighters have cruised through their last several fights and the boxing odds are the tightest each has gone against in years. It’s been a long time since Spence has been an underdog adding fuel to an already blazing fire. KO’s are a huge weapon for both fighters and they also know how to avoid getting hit. Crawford’s quickness helps him dodge blows and gives him the edge on the counter strike. He probably won’t finish Spence, but I like Crawford to win this battle.
