The PGA Tour heads to Bermuda this week for the Butterfield Bermuda Championship which is very important to players on the bubble of making it into the Top 125 for next year’s PGA Tour season. Next week’s The RSM Classic is the final event of the FedExCup Fall schedule. Adam Scott is listed as the lukewarm betting favorite at Caesars at odds of +1400. Scott last played at the ZOZO Championship and finished in a tie for 41st. Brendon Todd is the second choice in golf betting odds at +1600. Let’s look at Butterfield Bermuda Championship picks.

Venue: Port Royal GC in Southampton, Bermuda is a par 71 that measures 6,828 yards. It will be the fifth year for Port Royal hosting a PGA Tour event. The course is short but elevation and winds do play a factor.
Last Year: Seamus Power won his second PGA Tour title last year by winning this event. He beat Thomas Detry by one shot. Kevin Yu, Patrick Rodgers and Ben Griffin tied for third. Griffin was in good shape but he collapsed on holes 12 through 15 with four straight bogeys and then he had a double bogey on 16.

Adam Scott +1400
I almost never bet golf favorites to win a tournament and I am not taking Scott. I know he is the marquee name in the field, but he has two missed cuts and a tie for 41st in his recent golfing action. Perhaps he turns the corner this week, but I am not banking on it.
Value Picks
Taylor Pendrith +2200
Pendrith is playing better of late with a 3rd at the Shriners and then he finished 15th last week. He has always been a player who gets on good and bad streaks and right now he is going well. He does better on short to medium length golf courses so he should fit right in at Port Royal. He finished 5th in his only start on the course in 2021.
Lucas Glover +2200
There are not many players in this field who we know can win but Glover is one of them. He has already won twice on the PGA Tour this season and he has played well on this course in the past with a win in the 2009 Grand Slam of Golf. He didn’t play as well last year on this course but his form is solid and I expect him to contend this week.
Ben Griffin +2500
Griffin nearly won this event a year ago but collapsed on the back nine. He comes in playing well, as he lost in the playoff at the Sanderson Farms. He has thrived on Bermudagrass golf courses in the past and I think he will want redemption for what happened last year on this course.
Alex Noren +2500
Noren still has not won on the PGA Tour but he comes in playing well with top 15 finishes in three of his last eight starts. He finished in a tie for 15th on this course in his only try. It would not be that big a shock to see Noren get his first PGA Tour win this week.
Henrik Norlander +10000
I’ll throw in one bomb and go with Norlander. He is 121st in the FedExCup standings so he needs one more good result to secure his spot for next year. He is another player who does well on Bermudagrass greens. He lost in a playoff at the Sanderson Farms and I don’t think last week’s missed cut is much of a concern.
