UFC 285 Picks
March 3, 2023College Basketball Parlay Picks for Sunday, March 5, 2023
March 3, 2023This is the best time of the year for college basketball fans. Conference tournaments have begun in some parts of the country, and the regular season will officially come to an end this weekend. Most games are now do-or-die as schools that aren’t in the major conferences have to rely on winning their conference tournaments in order to make the NCAA Tournament.
I missed my last college basketball parlay as the Davidson Wildcats lost to the George Washington Colonials outright as a favorite per the college basketball betting odds. Davidson took a six-point lead into halftime, and the Wildcats led by nine points with under 16 minutes to play. However, the Colonials scored 38 points from that point onwards in order to pick up the win. That defeat was unfortunate as I was dead on with my call for Auburn to keep it close against Alabama despite being a double-digit underdog by the CBB betting odds.

Duquesne Dukes at Fordham Rams
The Fordham Rams have been one of the luckiest teams in college basketball this season. Fordham ranks seventh in Ken Pomeroy’s luck index, and the Rams have only won 23 games because they played the weakest non-conference schedule in the country. They were obliterated by the only quality team they played, and five of their seven losses have been by double digits.
Fordham is not good on offense. The Rams rank 296th nationally in effective field goal percentage, as the only thing they are good at is getting to the free throw line and hitting their freebies. Senior Darius Quisenberry leads the team in scoring with 16.9 PPG, but he is making just 37.7% of his field goals and 32.7% of his threes. Khalid Moore has been arguably the most effective person on the team with 15.0 PPG and 6.5 RPG while making 48.1% of his field goals, but he has also struggled from beyond the arc and has had trouble with both turnovers and personal fouls.
Meanwhile, the Duquesne Dukes have been one of the better three-point shooting teams in the country. Duquesne is collectively knocking down 37.4% of its threes as Dae Dae Grant leads the way in this regard. Grant is averaging 15.5 PPG, and he is making over 40% of his threes on over 200 attempts. Tevin Brewer is extremely efficient as well, knocking down 47% of his shots from downtown.
As long as Duquesne doesn’t get crushed on the glass, the Dukes stand a good chance of winning this game outright even though they will be an underdog by the college basketball odds. Grant had one of his worst games of the season in the first meeting between these teams, but he should perform better on Saturday.
Army Black Knights at Colgate Raiders
There’s no doubt that the Colgate Raiders are the team to beat in the Patriot League, and they are odds-on favorites by the college basketball futures odds when it comes to claiming the conference’s automatic bid for the NCAA Tournament. Colgate is in great shape considering the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds lost in the quarterfinals, so the other seeds left in this tournament are No. 4, No. 6, and No. 7.
The Raiders will face the No. 4 Army Black Knights this weekend. Army squeaked past Boston University in overtime to make the Patriot League Semifinals, and the Black Knights now have to go on the road to face Colgate. This isn’t as tough of an ask for Army as it has been for other teams in the Patriot League though. Army’s two losses to Colgate this season have been by a combined nine points as the Black Knights seem to match up well with the Raiders.
Colgate leads the country in effective field goal percentage, and the Raiders are hitting more than 41% of their threes. Oliver Lynch-Daniels is the country’s best three-point shooter, knocking down 50.4% of his attempts on over 140 tries, so there will be a lot of public love for the Raiders, and they will be double-digit favorites. Army has the size and hustle to keep the final score within the number though.
