NHL Same Game Parlay – Canadiens at Penguins – Nov 2
October 31, 2024Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions
November 1, 2024The Dallas Cowboys enter Week 9 betting action looking to halt a two-game losing streak against the Atlanta Falcons who just took a chokehold of the NFC South by sweeping the season rivalry from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The last time these non-divisional NFC rivals squared off in the regular season, Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb went HAM leading the Boys to the eye-opening 43-3 smack down as 8-point “Jerry World” favorites. Much has changed within each franchise since—Dallas is playing out the season with a lame duck coaching staff watching on from the sideline, while Atlanta looks the part of a number of teams that could represent the NFC in Super Bowl LIX. Even so, PROLINE+ only has the Falcons installed 2.5-point NFL odds favorites with the Over/Under set at 51.5 which clocks in as the highest total of the Week 9 slate. NFL bettors have hammered the home team and over with 78% and 80% of the money, respectively. Even so, the NFL odds have held firm while the total market has corrected off the 48.5-point opener.
Reduced juice betting is one of the best ways for any sports bettor to save money and far too many people don’t take advantage of it. If you are not playing at a sportsbook that offers reduced juice betting then you are simply giving away money.
Dallas Cowboys vs. Atlanta Falcons NFL Same Game Parlay:
We backed the Cowboys with the points and the under last Sunday night in San Francisco and felt great about both positions through a half of play with Dallas leading 10-6. Then in the blink of an eye, the 49ers dented the board with three unanswered third quarter scores to make a mockery of the contest. Dallas got off the mat with a pair of tallies in the fourth quarter to kill the position on the under and lost 30-24 which saw them come up just short of covering the closing 5.5-point NFL odds. The defense had no answer for Brock Purdy’s arm with “Mr. Irrelevant” going on to complete 18 of 26 passes for 260 yards and a touchdown, but also had issues containing the Niners on the ground with the battery of Jordan Mason and Isaac Guerendo combining for 103 yards and a touchdown. With Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence out of the mix, the Dallas defense has been a shell of its former self.
Enter Kirk Cousins and the balanced offensive attack of the Atlanta Falcons that can slice you through the air and rip off chunk yardage on the ground. It took some time, but Cousins has settled in nicely as Atlanta’s QB1 with the veteran gunslinger overlooking the league’s No. 6 ranked passing attack that’s gone for 250+ yards and 1.8 passing touchdowns per game (#7). The trio of Drake London, Darnell Mooney, and Kyle Pitts have all flourished due to his insertion under center. Balancing it all out in the backfield has been the 1-2 punch of Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier who’ve combined for 120+ yards per game (#15) and 4.7 yards per attempt (No. 11). The unit has still been able to get the job done even though the offensive line has been attacked by the injury bug going all the way back to Week 2. Even so, the Falcons have still gone for 24+ points per game (#12) and played to high scorers four of the last five times it took to the gridiron.
As expected, the other side of the ball has been an issue. Upper management did very little in the offseason to improve what was a league-worst pass rush. That remains a huge issue with the Falcons defense mustering less than 1.0 sack per game. With that, I fully expect Dallas to score its fair share of points in this matchup. That hasn’t been an issue with the Dak Prescott-led offense averaging 21.4 points (#22) with its third-ranked passing attack accounting for 256 yards per game. While Atlanta has some solid cover men in A.J. Terrell and Jessie Bates III, its secondary is still serving up 262+ yards (#30) and 2.3 passing touchdowns per game over the last three weeks. CeeDee Lamb is going to be a problem, much like he was last week in Silicon Valley. Even so, can Big D outscore the Falcons enough with its one-dimensional attack? I’m not betting on it. As square it looks to only lay a field goal with a division leader at home, I can’t help myself. I’ll tip my hat if Dallas pulls it off, but will be betting against it—confidently!
