November 22, 2024Detroit Lions vs. Indianapolis Colts Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions Recap
The Detroit Lions showcased their versatility and dominance in a 24-6 victory over the Indianapolis Colts, blending a powerful rushing attack with a stout defense to secure their ninth consecutive win to maintain its top seeding in the NFC playoffs chase. Jahmyr Gibbs led the way with 90 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while David Montgomery added 56 yards and a score. Jared Goff efficiently passed for 269 yards on 26-of-36 attempts, though he didn’t record a single touchdown. Detroit improved to 10-1 for the first time since 1934 and extended their road record to a perfect 6-0 this NFL betting season.
The Lions’ defense was the star, holding the Colts to just two field goals and preventing touchdowns for a third straight game in the second half. The unit sacked Anthony Richardson three times and limited the Colts to 284 total yards, including a critical stop inside their 5-yard line on the game’s opening drive. Gibbs reached historic milestones, joining Billy Sims and Barry Sanders as the only Lions with 1,000 scrimmage yards and 10 touchdowns in their first two seasons. Detroit’s defense and a ball-control offense combined to dominate time of possession and capitalize on Indianapolis’ red zone struggles. Michael Pittman Jr. led the Colts with six catches for 96 yards, while Richardson rushed for 61 yards but struggled passing, finishing 11-of-28 for 172 yards.
Man oh man did I swing and miss with this one! Not a single one of the five recommended parlay legs cashed in after Indianapolis put forth an impotent attempt to upset the white hot Lions in a spot I believed to be too juicy to overlook. As horrendous Anthony Richardson’s overall stat line looks on paper, it wasn’t all his fault. A number of deep strikes downfield were wiped away due to penalties, and his pass catchers did him no favors after dropping a number of catchable balls. The Colts committed a whopping 10 penalties for 75 yards with a handful of them preventing us the opportunity to cover the closing NFL odds or allow us to cash in on at least one of those anytime touchdown props. We weren’t the only ones to take it on the chin with the Lions rattling off a ninth straight win after PROLINE+ saw a bulk of the action riding Campbell’s runaway money train.
Detroit Lions vs. Indianapolis Colts Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions
The Detroit Lions have been huge moneymakers in going 9-1 SU and 8-2 ATS for their NFL odds supporters to this point of the NFL betting season. A tall order pops up on the docket in Week 12 betting action however when Dan Campbell’s troops invade Lucas Oil Stadium to battle the Indianapolis Colts looking to extend their winning streak to nine. The betting odds hit the board with the Lions laying 7-points and the total lined 50.5 which amounts to the highest Over/Under of the week’s slate. Action reports find the visitors backed with 60+ percent of the bets and money forcing a market correction to 7.5, while the under has been aligned with 70+ percent of the tickets and 56 percent of the handle with hitting 49.5 before returning to the opener at PROLINE+.
Reduced juice betting is one of the best ways for any sports bettor to save money and far too many people don’t take advantage of it. If you are not playing at a sportsbook that offers reduced juice betting then you are simply giving away money.
Detroit Lions vs. Indianapolis Colts NFL Same Game Parlay:
Since falling 20-16 as decided 7.5-point home favorites to the Bucs way back in Week 2, the Lions have been a runaway train steamrolling through all that gets in their way en route to compiling the largest active win streak in the league. This team has brought it on both sides of the ball every passing week with a different phase of the team routinely rising up to lead the team to victory. Last week, it was Jared Goff and the passing attack that lit the Jaguars up for 449 yards and 4 TD. The week before that, it was the defense, running game, and special teams that allowed them to pull out the second half comeback and get the best of the Texans in Houston. With Kansas City going down in defeat last week, it’s the Lions that currently possess the shortest odds to win Super Bowl LIX at PROLINE+ (+375). Whether it’s been at home (4-1) or on the road (5-0), Detroit has exhibited the true characteristics of a title contender week in and week out.
The same can’t and won’t be said of the roller coaster ride the Colts have taken their fans and NFL bettors on through the first 11 weeks of the NFL betting season. Having followed up a pair of two-game win streaks with three straight losses before shocking the Jets in New York last week, inconsistency has plagued Shane Steichen’s squad throughout. But was last week the turning point? Arguably, Indy looked like the team I envisioned at the outset of the season in that one and it had everything to do with a watered down game plan called for Anthony Richardson to do his thing. No doubt pissed about being benched a few weeks back and getting reinserted under center last week after Joe Flacco fizzled, Richardson shined playing to a 106.5 QB rating by way of completing 20 of 30 passes for 272 yards and a TD while adding another 32 yards and two scores with his legs. If that’s the offensive game plan NFL bettors can expect moving forward, the Colts are going to be a team to back on the NFL spread the remainder of the regular season and maybe even into the playoffs.
Currently a +155 dog at PROLINE+ to punch a ticket to the second season sitting just on the outside looking into the AFC playoff picture, that’s a bet you should think about making right now. Heck, you might even want to throw a beer money bet on the 14-1 lottery ticket odds to win the AFC South regardless of Indy already losing the season rivalry to the Texans—by a grand total of five points! The Colts have by far the much easier schedule strength than Houston to close it out. But back to this game. I don’t think Detroit will be interested to win this non-conference tilt whatsoever. It’s got four divisional games plus matchups against the Bills and Niners upcoming. On top of that, it’s playing the Bears on Thanksgiving in four days back in Motown. Making matters all the more worse, this will be the first game without defensive leader Alex Anzalone which leads me to believe Indy is ripe to hang a crooked number on what I believe will be a disinterested Lions defense. Linemakers are serving up a free square giving Indianapolis all these points—run with them and hide!
