November 26, 2024Dolphins at Packers Same Game Parlay Recap
The same game parlay between the Miami Dolphins and Green Bay Packers on Thursday, November 28th was a loser as the Packers routed the Dolphins, winning 30-17. Green Bay easily covered the 3.5-point spread and the game went over the total of 46.5. The Dolphins showed once again that they are no threat to win in cold weather, as Miami looked completely lost and unprepared for the cold temperatures in Green Bay. Miami was thought to be a playoff contender before the season began but there are now questions being raised as to whether head coach Mike McDaniel should keep his job. Let’s recap the game between the Dolphins and Packers from Thursday, November 28.
Dolphins at Packers Recap – November 28
Jordan Love had a big night and the Green Bay Packers routed the Miami Dolphins on Thanksgiving night, winning 30-17. Love threw two touchdown passes to Jayden Reed in the win. Love went 21 of 28 for 274 yards. The Packers, who have won seven of their last eight games, established a 27-3 lead and staged a goal-line stand. Miami (5-7) kept up its recent trend of having trouble in frigid weather. At Lambeau Field, the temperature was 27 degrees (-2.7 Celsius) at kickoff, with light snowfall, a wind chill of 18, and winds of 10 mph. Despite being sacked five times, Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was 37 of 46 for 365 yards and two touchdowns. In the last 12 regular-season or postseason games where the kickoff temperature has been below 40 degrees (4.4 Celsius), the Dolphins have lost every time. The last time the Dolphins won a game with a kickoff temperature of 40 degrees or less came on December 24, 2016, when they defeated Buffalo 34-31 in overtime.
Halfway through the third quarter, Green Bay led 27-3 thanks to two field goals from Brandon McManus, a touchdown from Jacobs from 1 yard out, and touchdowns from Love and Reed that were 3 and 12 yards. With 2:43 remaining in the third quarter, Tagovailoa’s 14-yard pass to De’Von Achane and a 2-point conversion pass to Jaylen Waddle reduced Green Bay’s advantage to 27-11. Early in the fourth quarter, the Dolphins drove again and had second-and-goal at the 1 after Miami forced a punt by stopping Jacobs for a 2-yard loss on third-and-1. The drive was crushed by Green Bay’s goal-line defense. With 9:33 left, Quay Walker made a fourth-down sack after Rashan Gary stopped Achane on second down and Tagovailoa failed to connect with Jonnu Smith on third down. With five minutes remaining, McManus made a 33-yard field goal after Love completed a 49-yard pass to Jacobs. With 3:04 left, Tagovailoa hit a 12-yard touchdown to Tyreek Hill, giving Miami the last touchdown.
In the first half, the Dolphins forced a three-and-out on the first possession, but when Robert Rochell recovered at the nine after Malik Washington muffed a punt, Green Bay had a first-and-goal opportunity. Love’s 3-yard touchdown pass to Reed on third-and-goal was made possible by the fumble. On its subsequent series, Green Bay made it to the end zone once more after a 12-play, 76-yard drive that lasted over seven minutes and was completed by Jacobs’ score. Jason Sanders’ 33-yard field goal was Miami’s only first half points. In the last 96 seconds of the half, Green Bay scored 10 points to make the score 24-3.

The Miami Dolphins visit the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving night on NBC. The Dolphins have turned their season around, as they have won their last three games and are back in the playoff hunt with a record of 5-6. On the other side, the Packers are rolling, having won six of their last seven games. The Packers are listed as a 3.5-point favorite with a total of 46.5. The weather will be cold on Thursday night, but nothing out of the ordinary for a late November game at Lambeau Field. I am coming off a nice winning parlay last Thursday night with the Browns and the overs. Let’s look at this Thanksgiving night game, NFL odds at PROLINE+ and Dolphins vs. Packers Same Game Parlay Picks.
PROLINE+ NFL Odds

Miami Dolphins at Green Bay Packers Same Game Parlay
The Dolphins come into this game at 5-6 SU and 5-6 ATS with five games going over the total and six going under. The Packers are 8-3 SU but just 5-6 ATS with five games going over, five going under, with one push. This is another critical game for the Dolphins who are a game and a half back of the surging Denver Broncos for the last playoff spot in the AFC. The Packers are two games behind the Lions and a game behind the Vikings in the NFC North which is proving to be the best division in the NFL this season.
Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins are averaging 19.5 points per game and giving up 21.5 points per contest. De’Von Achane leads the team in rushing with 562 yards, Tua Tagovailoa has thrown for 1,760 yards and Tyreek Hill leads the team with 571 receiving yards. The Dolphins have definitely played better of late, but it should be noted that their three wins were against the Rams, Raiders and Patriots. There is no question that the level of competition goes up this week.
Green Bay Packers
The Packers are averaging 26.2 points per game with much of their success coming on the ground, as they are 3rd in the NFL in rushing yards at 151.6 yards per contest. The Packers are giving up 20.3 points per game. Green Bay is in good shape to make the playoffs, but because they play in the toughest division in the NFL, they are unlikely to win the NFC North, as they trail both Detroit and Minnesota in the division.
Dolphins vs. Packers Series
The Packers are 6-4 SU and 6-4 ATS in the last ten meetings with seven of the 10 going under the total. The teams have met just twice in the last 10 years with Green Bay winning at Miami 26-20 two years ago and the Packers won 31-12 at Lambeau in 2018.
Dolphins at Packers Same Game Parlay Pick
As I said last week, Thursday Night NFL games are a different animal to handicap and predict. One thing that normally works well on Thursday night is to take the underdog and it worked again last week by taking the Browns. I have to say this week that I am not a fan of either team, as I think both head coaches are overrated. I know that when in doubt, you take the points and that is what I will do here. I think the best play in the game is to take the game under the total. The Dolphins haven’t done much on offense even with Tua under center and they could struggle against the Green Bay defense. The one strength for Miami has been their defense and Miami has been tough against the run this season. I think this game will stay under the total. I’ll go with the Dolphins plus the points and take the game under the total.
