Friday, March 15 NBA Parlay Picks

We don’t have to worry about handicapping a bunch of games for a NBA parlay on Friday, March 15 because there are only six games on the schedule. When building a NBA parlay at Caesars sportsbook it’s always good to wait for injury information because it will come out eventually. Last week I backed the Minnesota Timberwolves in a game against the Lakers placing the wager before learning Karl-Anthony Towns would miss time with a knee injury. The Wolves lost the game and my parlay. Well, we have to plow forward and not worry about Minnesota since they aren’t slated to play on Friday. There is a crucial matchup in the Western Conference on tap with the LA Clippers taking on New Orleans. The Clips lost Kawhi Leonard and the game to Minnesota on Tuesday, their second straight and third in five outings. They haven’t been good to backers in that span either going 1-4 as a NBA pick against the spread.

NBA TV will carry two of the games starting with the Phoenix Suns at Charlotte at 7 p.m. ET. The Suns are playing the third game of a four-game trip and the second of a back-to-back after tangling with Boston on Thursday. The teams are among the worst when it comes to winning as a NBA pick against the spread with each covering around 40 percent of their games. The nightcap has potential to be a high scoring affair with the Utah Jazz hosting Atlanta at 9:30 p.m. ET. The Jazz have played OVER the total on the NBA betting line four times with a push in their last five contests and they’ve cashed the OVER a league-high 56.3 percent of the time.

I’m going in the wrong direction with my NBA parlays. It’s been a while since I last cashed a winning ticket but at least I was hitting a good percentage of my individual bets at Caesars sportsbook. I can’t even say that now after going 0-2-1 on last week’s three-teamer. So much for Milwaukee’s stingy defense. I backed the UNDER in the Bucks’ matchup with the Lakers and the clubs combined for 245 points to easily clear the total. Oklahoma City has been one of the best NBA picks covering more than 60 percent of their games. However, in last week’s 107-100 win over Miami they failed to cover the 8.5-point NBA line.

So it’s back to the drawing board and as much as I want to back the Hornets in their matchup with Phoenix I just don’t have the cojones to do it. The Suns are playing the second of a back-to-back but Charlotte is bad winning just 16 of 65 games with a NBA worst -10.2 point differential. Instead of a NBA pick for one team I’m going with both and I can see the teams playing below the NBA betting line total. In the second game of their last five back-to-backs the Suns cashed the UNDER and I’m betting on that happening again.

Injuries have an impact on NBA odds leaving the Clippers in kind of a no-man’s land after Kawhi Leonard exited Tuesday’s loss to Minnesota with a back issue. The club said it’s uncertain if Leonard will accompany the team on its brief two-game trip that concludes Friday in New Orleans. With Russell Westbrook already on the shelf the Clips will be shorthanded against a hot Pelicans squad that just swept a three-game road trip giving them four straight triumphs. The Pels are also 4-1-1 in their last five games as a NBA point spread pick.

If the Jazz cooperate I should have a winning NBA pick on the OVER in Utah’s contest with Atlanta. The Jazz were beaten 123-107 by Boston on Tuesday night, their second straight loss and sixth in the last seven games. The Jazz managed just 97 points in a loss to Atlanta at the end of February staying below the total despite the Hawks scoring 124 points. Utah should be able to score more at home against a defense that’s practically non-existent.
