October 25, 2022Jake Paul will take on Anderson Silva on Saturday night at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona with the fight being shown on Showtime pay-per-view. Paul continues to do well in his hand-picked fights against mainly former UFC fighters. Paul comes into this bout with a record of 5-0, while Silva is 3-1 in his four boxing matches. The main card starts at 9 p.m. Eastern so that should mean that the bout between Paul and Silva starts about 11:30 p.m. Eastern. Paul is listed as a slight favorite to win this bout. The boxing odds have been moving toward Silva, as Paul was nearly a 2-1 favorite a couple of months ago.
Jake Paul (-140)
Anderson Silva (+110)
Paul is listed as a -140 favorite in this fight. That means you would bet $140 to win $100 on Paul or the 1.4-1 equivalent. Silva is the underdog at a price of +110 and that would mean for every $100 bet you will win $110 if Silva gets the victory.
Total Rounds Betting
The fight is scheduled for 8 rounds. The total rounds are listed at 6.5 with the over at -140. That means that if you think the fight is going to go to at least 6.5 rounds (over), for you to win your bet you would need to bet $140 to win $100. The under 6.5 rounds, would mean you would need to risk $100 to win $110 on the fight to go under 6.5 rounds.
Jake Paul
Paul has been saying that he is going to knock out Silva in this fight and he said that people betting on Silva are going to lose. “I’m knocking this guy out,” Paul said to the media. He added that the fight won’t last past five rounds. “I’m promising everyone that.” Paul said that those who wagered on Silva shouldn’t have done it. “You shouldn’t have done it. You should’ve invested into something else.” Paul said to the media.
Anderson Silva
Silva is nearly 50 years old and his best days are behind him, but he has looked pretty good in his boxing matches with wins over former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., Bruno Machado and former UFC light-heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz. Despite those wins, many people believe Silva is just fighting Paul for the money. “I don’t need the money anymore,” Silva said to the media, “People think money is important, but it’s not. Of course, I will make money from this fight because It’s my job. Don’t do something just for the money. Work because you have a passion. That’s what I’ve done and why I’ve been successful all my life.”
Silva went on to say that his experience will be the difference. “Every single fight, you have different things you train for. Every fight is different. For this fight, I’m training to fight a boxer.” Silva said to the media, “The most important thing going into this fight is my experience. My experience is something that Jake doesn’t have. I love this challenge. That’s the secret to me. I go into this fight to prove my respect to the boxing community.”
Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva Boxing Picks
Do you put stock in what Paul said about this fight or do you just ignore what he said? There really isn’t any question that Silva is the best boxer that Paul has faced, for what that is worth, considering none of his opponents have been boxers. Silva was a very talented UFC fighter, but those days are long since gone. He has looked pretty good in his limited boxing action, but he is still not a boxer. Perhaps Paul will be right and he will get the knockout. It is definitely worth considering if you can find a knockout prop on Paul. The rounds are also worth considering. They are listed at 6.5 and Paul and Silva have each been knocking out their opponents in previous fights. In fact, only one of Paul’s fights went to a decision and just one of Silva’s fights went the distance. I’ll go under the rounds total in this fight.
