The PGA Tour is in Illinois this week for the John Deere Classic where Sungjae Im and Sepp Straka are listed as the co-favorites at Caesars with odds of +1400. Aaron Rai is listed as the third choice at odds of +1600. None of the world’s top players are in this event, so it could be another week where we see a longshot win. The top players in the world are looking ahead to next week’s Genesis Scottish Open and the Open Championship in two weeks. One of the players I looked at in the odds preview was Power. He has played well at TPC Deere Run in the past with four Top 25 finishes. His scoring average is 67.95 and he finished tied for 8th in 2021. I’ll take Power in this matchup against Hisatsune.
Eric Cole -115 vs. Beau Hossler
Cole plays all the time but he still hasn’t gotten a win. He definitely hasn’t played as well this season, but he may have turned the corner last week with a tie for 6th in Detroit. Hossler has been a player I have gone against in the past with success and I’ll do so again here.
Sam Stevens -125 vs. Adam Svensson
Stevens is playing well of late, as he has four top 10 finishes and two finishes of tied for 14th in his last nine starts. He tied for 10th place last week in Detroit. He is poised for another good week and I’ll take him in this matchup against Svensson.
Aaron Rai -130 vs. Jordan Spieth
If you are surprised at the odds in this matchup, you shouldn’t be. Rai is coming off his career-best tie for 2nd finish last week in Detroit. He led the field in par-4 scoring. Spieth has a good history at TPC Deere Run, as he won the event in 2013 and 2015 but he hasn’t played there since 2015. Spieth is not playing well of late, and his Stroked Gained: Around the Green rank 78th which is the worst of his career. I’ll take Rai in this golf betting matchup.
Mark Hubbard -120 vs. Patrick Rodgers
Hubbard has improved in each of his last four starts at TPC Deere Run with a tie for 6th last year. He has played well this season, making the cut in all 18 of his events.
