Genesis Invitational Matchups – PGA Tour Betting
February 12, 2025UCLA at Indiana Same Game Parlay Pick
February 12, 2025You could call LIV Golf Adelaide the signature event on the circuit. Drawing large, enthusiastic crowds in each of the previous two editions, the tournament moves up a few months on the calendar and comes less than a week after the season-opener in Saudi Arabia. We don’t often see LIV compete in back to back weeks but not a lot has changed from a golf betting standpoint at Caesars sportsbook. Coming off a co-runner-up finish in Riyadh last week, Jon Rahm has slid into the favorite role in the outright market and is one of four players boasting shorter than 10/1 odds on the opening line. Adrian Meronk posted a wire-to-wire win in Riyadh claiming his first LIV title. He’s positioned further down the odds board as are previous Adelaide winners Brendan Steele and Talor Gooch. With only 54 players competing just about everyone is featured in a tournament matchup, including Phil Mickelson. Lefty is back in the lineup after missing last week’s tournament and is a solid underdog in his matchup with Martin Kaymer.
Tournament Notes: The Grange Golf Club isn’t going to scare anyone given its short length and minimal hazards. At less than 7,000 yards the field had a good time a year ago with more than half the players finishing at 10-under or better. In the 2023 edition Gooch carded a 62 in each of the first two rounds and finished at 19-under, one of 25 players to finish 10-under or better. The three-day tournament starts on Feb. 14.

LIV Golf Adelaide Matchup Picks
Jon Rahm -127 vs. Tyrrell Hatton
I said last week it probably wasn’t a good idea to bet against Rahm, and I was right. He beat Hatton head to head in Riyadh. The two are matched up again and I’m not making the same mistake. Rahm continued his incredible streak of consecutive top 10s in every LIV tournament he’s completed with a T2 last week, which was also his ninth top 5 in 13 career starts.
Louis Oosthuizen -105 vs. David Puig
I’m still backing Oosthuizen despite his T25 last week. It’s hard to be as a good as he’s been over the last year without a slipup along the way. He had seven top 10s in 12 completed LIV starts last year, including a runner-up in Adelaide when he closed within a shot of Steele with a final round 65. Oosthuizen also placed T11 in 2023 getting knocked down the leaderboard with a closing 70.
Tom Mckibbin +100 vs. Sebastian Munoz
A strong season on the DP World Tour allowed McKibbin to have a nice LIV debut. A closing 72 in Riyadh dropped him down the leaderboard to T15, but he was in contention after the first two days. He also had five top 10s in 12 starts on DP Tour before making the transition. At even money I like his chances.
Talor Gooch -110 vs. Ben Campbell
Returning to Adelaide has to spark some positive feelings inside Gooch. His win in the 2023 tournament was the first of back-to-back triumphs and also gave him one of the best runs in LIV history. He opened with a pair of 62s to build an insurmountable lead and it was the first of three titles in five events. He hasn’t won since, but he hasn’t been bad either.
Phil Mickelson +120 vs. Martin Kaymer
Mickelson helped get LIV Golf off the ground as the first major signing and the early face of the league. Unfortunately the results haven’t followed. He has just three top 10s in 33 LIV starts and has been inconsequential for the most part. However, at his price against another struggling player I’m backing Lefty. He also doesn’t have the stress of back-to-back weeks since he skipped Riyadh.
