LIV Golf Adelaide Odds and Picks

The LIV Golf Tour gets back into action this week with the LIV Golf Adelaide tournament with Jon Rahm listed as the favorite.  This will be the sixth event of the LIV Golf season and Rahm has been favored in each tournament. Rahm has yet to win on the LIV Tour but he has played well, finishing in the Top 10 in each event. He is listed at odds of +600 at Caesars. The only other golfer listed at single-digit odds is Cameron Smith at +800 and Smith is also winless this season on the LIV Golf Tour. Venue: The Grange Golf Club is a par 72 that measures 6,946 yards. The greens are considered firm and fast so putting will be critical this week.

Last Year: Talor Gooch won this event a year ago and it was the springboard for a season in which Gooch won three times and took the season championship.

Golf betting favorites on both the PGA Tour and LIV Tour lose on a regular basis except for Scottie Scheffler. He is the only favorite that can be trusted on either tour. Rahm will eventually get a win on the LIV Tour but at these odds he is simply not worth betting, especially as the favorite.

Golf Picks

Cameron Smith +800

I can’t ignore Smith even though I would prefer better odds than 8-1. Smith is an outstanding putter and we know that putting will be key this week. He is coming off a good finish at the Masters, as he tied for 6^th. He played well in this event a year ago and tied for 3^rd. I expect him to be in contention for the win this week.

Talor Gooch +1200

Gooch won this event a year ago and there is no reason he can’t win it again. He dominated a year ago, winning by three shots. He used this tournament as a springboard last year and I think it could happen again. We are getting 12-1 odds on the defending champ.

Tyrrell Hatton +1200

Hatton is playing well, as he could have won in Miami and then he tied for 9^th at the Masters. He has finished in the Top 15 in four of the five LIV Tour events this season. I’ll take a shot with Hatton at 12-1.

Abraham Ancer +2200

Ancer is known as a player who can get hot with the putter. He has played well in Australia in the past, as he won in 2018. He does well on shorter courses and he can definitely contend this week.

Peter Uihlein +5000

I think Uihlein is a live underdog this week. He finished T7 in Adelaide last season. He comes in off a good effort, as he T3 at the Asian Tour’s Saudi Open. He shot a final round 63 in that event. I’ll take a shot with Uihlein at 50-1 in golf betting odds.

Matt Jones +9000

I am throwing in one bomb this week and going with Jones. He is known as an excellent putter and putting will be a big key this week.
