Caesars Palace Heats Up Summer’s Arrival with June Bonus Action
June 5, 2024Memorial Tournament Matchup Picks
June 5, 2024Is this the week when Jon Rahm finally gets his first LIV Golf Tour win? Rahm has been favored in every LIV tournament this season but he has yet to get a win. Rahm has played well, finishing in the Top 10 in all seven events, but he really hasn’t been in serious contention for a win. Rahm is listed as the betting favorite at Caesars to win this week at odds of +800. Bryson DeChambeau, who finished second in the PGA Championship, is second in the betting odds at +850. Also listed at single-digit odds is Joaquin Niemann at odds of +900. Somewhat surprisingly, Brooks Koepka, who won the last LIV Golf event in Singapore is the sixth choice in the betting odds at +1400. Let’s look at LIV Golf Houston odds and picks.

Favorite
Jon Rahm +800
Betting on golf favorites to win a tournament are a losing proposition overall. The only exception to that rule this season has been Scottie Scheffler. Rahm used to be someone that you could sometimes bet as the favorite, but not this season. He has been favored in every single LIV Golf event this season and has yet to win. It should be noted, however, that the golf betting odds are finally starting to rise on Rahm and he is nearly a co-favorite this week along with DeChambeau, so maybe this is the week he wins.
Golf Picks
Brooks Koepka +1400
LIV has seen some players win in back-to-back events in the past and I think Koepka is undervalued this week. He ranks in a tie for 6th on the LIV Tour in GIR and he is in the Top 15 in driving distance and in scrambling. It would not be a surprise to me if he tuned up for the U.S. Open next week by winning in Houston.
Talor Gooch +1400
This could be a good week for Gooch to get a win. He finished fourth at LIV Golf Singapore which was his fourth top 10 finish of the season. He should thrive on this Houston course and I expect him to be in contention on Sunday.
Dean Burmester +1800
It has been a good season for Burmester and he played well at the PGA Championship with a tie for 12th. He has finished in the top 15 in six events this season on the LIV Golf Tour. He ranks fourth in driving distance; he is tied for 4th in GIR and he is eighth in scrambling. He could contend this week at decent odds.
Abraham Ancer +2200
Ancer has started to play better of late with a tie for 12th in five straight events including a win in Hong Kong. He is the most accurate golfer off the tee on the LIV Golf Tour and he ranks fourth in birdies per hole. I think he can contend this week and we get him at 22-1.
Patrick Reed +2800
I have to throw Reed in here this week, as he is playing at home and will have a lot of crowd support. Reed has been a disappointment overall in LIV but this is definitely a week where he will be motivated to play well and it would be just like him to get a win in his hometown event.
