Super Bowl LVIII Exotic Props Betting
February 5, 2024WM Phoenix Open Odds and Picks
February 6, 2024We started off the 2024 LIV Golf season in fine fashion, as we had Joaquin Niemann winning at odds of 14-1. There are only 14 events this season in LIV Golf so we won’t see many instances where the LIV Tour has tournaments in back-to-back weeks, but we get one this week with LIV Golf Las Vegas. Jon Rahm is once again listed as the betting favorite at odds of 4-1 at Caesars. Niemann is getting more attention this week, as he is the second choice in LIV betting odds at +1000. Brooks Koepka is next at +1200, while Cameron Smith and Tyrrell Hatton are listed at +1400. Keep in mind that LIV Golf Las Vegas begins on Thursday and concludes on Saturday, as LIV doesn’t want to compete with the Super Bowl on Sunday. Favorite
Jon Rahm +400
As I said last week, golf betting favorites lose almost every week. Last week Rahm was in contention, but he didn’t win. Rahm is definitely capable of winning this week, but his odds are once again too low and I am not taking him as the favorite.
Golf Picks
Tyrrell Hatton +1400
It was a nice LIV debut last week for Hatton in Mexico and he could be even better this week in Las Vegas. He hits the ball straight and can really dial in his irons and that is a recipe for success on this course. He has top 15 finishes in five of his last six starts.
Talor Gooch +1800
The defending LIV season champion is actually Gooch and he still doesn’t get a ton of respect. He has won three of his last 11 LIV starts. He looked good last weekend after a tough start with two rounds in the 60’s. I think the rust is now off and Gooch will contend this week.
Louis Oosthuizen +2000
The oddsmakers know what they are doing, as they have Oosthuizen much lower than I thought he would be. He won twice on the DP World Tour in December and he looked good last week in Mexico. I think he can be in the mix this week and although the number isn’t great, I’ll still take him.
Charles Howell III +2800
Howell had three rounds in the 60’s last week and he led the field in putting. He should find the Las Vegas Country Club to his liking and Howell proved last year he can still win. He hits the ball straight and it would not be a surprise if he contends this week.
Abraham Ancer +3300
Ancer is another player who will like the shorter course and the demand for accuracy in Vegas. He played well on Sunday last week after a tough first two rounds. I think Ancer can be in the mix this week and we get longshot odds.
Sebastian Munoz +3300
Another player who could be contending this week at big odds is Munoz. He actually made 17 birdies last week, tied with Niemann for the most in the field but he had 10 bogeys. He ranked well in GIR last week and I think he can find a lot of greens and have some good chances this week.
