LIV Golf London Picks

LIV Golf heads to London this week for the LIV Golf London tournament where Brooks Koepka is listed as the favorite. Talor Gooch is coming off his third win of the LIV season, as he took the title in Spain, but he is not listed among the top betting choices. Koepka is listed with odds of +800 and then there are three players listed at +1000. They are Dustin Johnson, Cameron Smith and Bryson DeChambeau. Gooch is actually the fifth choice in the betting odds at +1100.

London will follow the now-usual LIV Golf format, which includes shotgun starts, no cuts, shorter playing windows, 12 teams, 48 players, three rounds of tournament play, and smaller fields. The tournament’s $25 million prize fund includes $5 million for the team competition and $20 million for the individual category.

This will be the ninth event of the LIV Golf season which has a total of 14 tournaments. After the first eight events, Talor Gooch leads the individual standings, while Dustin Johnson’s 4Aces GC team leads the team standings.

Venue: The Centurion Club is located in Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire, England which is 24 miles north-west of London and is part of the Greater London area. The Centurion Club opened in 2013 and features rolling fairways and deep rough.

Favorite

Brooks Koepka +800

It now goes without saying that betting the favorite to win a golf tournament is a losing proposition. I can count on one hand the amount of favorites to win this year in golf betting. Koepka is capable of winning, but so are about a dozen other players and since Koepka is listed as the favorite, he is a no play for me this week.

Value Picks

Bryson DeChambeau +1000

Is this the week where DeChambeau finally breaks his winless drought? He is one of the best drivers of the golf ball and this course in London is known to favor players who drive the ball well. DeChambeau just missed out on winning at Valderrama so we know he comes in playing well. The price is lower than I would like but we’ll still take DeChambeau at +1000.

Sebastian Munoz +2700

Munoz continues to play well, as he has finished in the top five in his last two LIV events. He looked good in the final round at Valderrama and his Torque GC team is rolling. Munoz could be a factor this week at nice odds.

Peter Uihlein +3000

I just can’t pass up Uihlein at this price. It seems that it will only be a matter of time before Uihlein gets a win on the LIV Golf Tour and at odds of 30-1 I don’t want to miss out if it is this week.

Jason Kokrak +3100

We know that Kokrak can drive the ball well and he has had some strong finishes this season. He finished sixth at Valderrama and he did that even though he has a poor second round with a 74. He didn’t play in DC but prior to that event he has four straight finishes in the Top 12.

Brendan Steele +4000

Another good driver of the golf ball is Steele, as he ranks in the Top 5 for Total Driving this season on the LIV Golf Tour. He had most of his game working last week except for his putter. If he gets that fixed this week, he could be right in the mix and we get big odds.
