February 4, 2025St. John’s at Connecticut Same Game Parlay Pick
February 5, 2025The fourth season of LIV opens with a new event when the 54-man field heads to the Saudi Arabia capital for LIV Golf Riyadh. Along with a new season come a few changes. Greg Norman is out as CEO and a handful of new players join the ranks. The biggest might be the media rights deal with FOX Sports, which will televise all events on its various platforms. The first starts on Thursday, February 6 under the lights at Riyadh Golf Club. That’s right, the entire 54-hole tournament will be played after sunset with the host venue having a state of the art lighting system. After topping the odds board at Caesars sportsbook in every tournament last season, Jon Rahm opened as the second favorite behind Tyrrell Hatton. Joaquin Niemann and Bryson DeChambeau join them as the only players with shorter than 10/1 odds. LIV competed in Saudi Arabia its first three years with Niemann winning in Jeddah last year and Brooks Koepka hoisting the hardware the first two seasons.
Tournament Notes: The PIF Saudi International on the Asian Tour relocated to Riyadh Golf Club last December with Niemann topping fellow LIVers Cameron Smith and Caleb Surratt in a playoff. Upwards of 40 current and former LIV golfers competed in the event. It’s a straight forward track that has traditionally yielded low scores with the leaders all tied at 21-under.

LIV Golf Riyadh Matchup Picks
Tyrrell Hatton -110 vs. Jon Rahm
It’s probably not a good idea to bet against Rahm, but there’s no one hotter than Hatton, which is why he tops the odds board in the outright market. Hatton cleaned up on the DP World Tour during the offseason finishing no worse than T10 in five events with a pair of wins. He ended last LIV season with four top 10s in his last five starts, including a win in Nashville. You have to strike while the iron’s hot and Hatton is smoking.
Brooks Koepka -110 vs. Cameron Smith
Two of Koepka’s LIV-best five wins came in Saudi Arabia at LIV Golf Jeddah in 2022 and 2023 and he’s historically been good in this part of the world. He hasn’t played competitively since a T10 at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in October so he should be well rested.
Caleb Surratt +137 vs. Branden Grace
Turning pro just last year Surratt has played enough to not be overwhelmed by his surroundings. While he finished no better than T12 in 13 LIV starts a year ago, he enters with a load of confidence following his runner-up finish at the PIF Saudi International at the Riyadh Golf Club just a few months ago. Besides, I couldn’t resist backing him at this price.
Matthew Wolff +110 vs. Ben Campbell
Wolff showed signs of his immense talent last season with three top 10s, including a podium in Miami and solo fourth in Las Vegas. The trick for him is to become more consistent and he spent a lot of time working on his overall game during the offseason. He also took a twirl around Riyadh Golf Club at the Saudi International giving a layout of the land.
Dustin Johnson +108 vs. Peter Uihlein
I can’t remember ever seeing Johnson at plus odds in a matchup. Then again I’ve never seen him in such a prolonged slump. He has just one top 10 since winning in Las Vegas last February and missed the cut at the Saudi International at Riyadh Golf Club last time out. He didn’t suddenly become a bad golfer and I anticipate a rebound season starting this week.
