CFB Futures – 2024 Virginia Tech Hokies Win Total Odds
August 15, 2024CFB Futures – 2024 Wisconsin Badgers Win Total Odds
August 16, 2024We went on to split each of last Friday’s MLB parlay picks cashing all three legs in the matchup between the Tigers and Giants, but coming up short on all three recommendations in the A’s/Blue Jays tilt. Go figure, Oakland went on to win the series by taking the next two games but failed to get to Jose Berrios in the opener to hand us a big fat loss. Robbie Ray wasn’t dominant but managed to just exceed his 6.5 K prop with the lefty and the pen keeping Detroit under its 3.5-run team total en route to logging the 3-2 win. We took home a slight profit at BetMGM Sportsbook and will attempt to do so again tonight with another assortment of parlay leg suggestions for Friday – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Seattle Mariners vs. Pittsburgh Pirates MLB Same Game Parlay:
If you’re a fan of dominant pitching, you’ll definitely want to tune in to the series opener between the Mariners and Pirates, with Logan Gilbert set to face off against Paul Skenes. This matchup promises high strikeout tallies for both arms, as Seattle and Pittsburgh are two of the top teams to target for overs in strikeout prop markets. The Mariners lead the league with a strikeout rate of 27.9%, while the Pirates aren’t far behind at 24.6%. Over the last two weeks, both teams have struggled even more against right-handed pitching, with the Mariners striking out at a league-worst 30.6% rate and the Pirates at 27.1% (#25).
Offensively, Seattle and Pittsburgh are also among the worst in the league when opposing right-handed pitching. On the season, Seattle ranks just above the White Sox with a .220 batting average, while Pittsburgh is slightly better at .231, ranking 24th. With plenty of swing-and-miss likely and neither team showing much ability to hit or score against RHP, this game shapes up to be a true pitcher’s duel. I’m betting on Gilbert and Skenes to engage in a “anything you can do, I can do better” contest, much like Chris Sale and Blake Snell did earlier this week, where we easily cashed in on the baseball betting lines.

Chicago White Sox vs. Houston Astros MLB Same Game Parlay:
At some point, Garret Crochet needs to take the mound with a chip on his shoulder and shake off the dark cloud that’s been following him for the last six weeks. After an impressive 11-strikeout performance over seven strong innings against the Rockies to close out June, the right-hander has struggled mightily, posting a 6.98 ERA and 1.81 WHIP over his last 19.1 innings across six starts. His most recent outing saw him get shelled by the Cubs, giving up nine hits (4 HR) and 7 ER in what was his second-shortest start of the season. Since then, his manager was fired, and Grady Sizemore has taken over, injecting new energy into the team as evidenced by their competitive play against the Cubs and Yankees in their last two series. I’m hopeful that some of that energy rubs off on Crochet, who needs to regain the form that helped us cash in numerous tickets on MLB odds earlier in the season.
On the flipside, Spencer Arrighetti and the Astros are in the midst of a heater, winning their last seven games, with Arrighetti logging his fifth win of the season during that stretch. In his last two starts against the Red Sox and Rays, he struck out 25 batters and allowed just 3 ER over 13 combined innings. However, before that, he had a rocky July, racking up 29 strikeouts but giving up 16 earned runs 12 walks over 27 innings. Despite his recent success, I’m not entirely convinced by Arrighetti’s overall body of work, and linemakers are likely to install him as a heavy favorite given Chicago yet to win 30 games. That said, the White Sox have shown some life against right-handers since August began, ranking #14 in that span. With Chicago already pulling off a big upset against the Yankees under Sizemore, I’ll take a shot on them here, believing Luis Robert Jr. and the rest of the team can steal a win in what looks like their best opportunity of the series.
