Tampa Bay Buccaneers Season Win Total Odds, Pick & Prediction
August 3, 2023MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Saturday, August 5
August 3, 2023We ended up cashing two of three MLB Same Game Parlays over at PointsBet Sportsbook last Friday with the Dodgers preventing us from sweeping the board. Though Shane McClanahan served up eight hits, he was able to limit the damage to just 3 ER which allowed the full game to stay under. Cristian Javier churned out his best showing in weeks with his six innings of 3 ER ball and 9 K keeping Tampa under its team total. Truthfully, it was a lucky cash but we’ll take it as bad the weekend proved to be. There was nothing fluky about the Mariners and Logan Gilbert’s dominance to earn the dub over snake bitten Arizona. Here’s to kicking the weekend off in the black with some winning parlay picks – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Houston Astros vs. New York Yankees
Luis Severino’s outing against the Orioles in front of a nationally televised Sunday night audience began like this: single, single, double, double, walk, 3-run homer. The right-hander just isn’t fooling anyone these days, and that’s something we’ll attempt to bank on in Friday’s matchup with the Astros when he squares off against up-and-comer Hunter Brown. Houston’s righty finally snapped his personal four-game losing streak last time out to even his record at 7-7 after tossing six innings of 2 ER ball at the Rays. He kept his fastballs up and his secondaries down and looked to have a solid approach as to how to attack the Rays hitters. Severino is doing nothing of the sort right now evidenced by serving up at least eight hits in all but one of his five July starts while allowing a whopping 27 ER and 7 HR. Simply going with the pitcher in better form here. With Yordan Alvarez back in the lineup, Houston should also hang a crooked number on the board.

New York Mets vs. Baltimore Orioles
For a second there it looked like Carlos Carrasco finally turned a corner by limiting the D’backs and White Sox to just nine hits (1 HR) and 4 ER through 12.2 combined innings while racking up a 9:4 K/BB ratio. Since then, “Cookie” has taken two straight losses after getting ripped for 18 hits and 11 ER against the Red Sox and Nationals. He’s generating next to no swinging strikes (No. 105) or called + swinging strikes (No. 160) per the stat heads over at Pitcher List, and his 4-seamer, slider, changeup assortment likely won’t fare well against a Baltimore offense either with a number of bats possessing impressive run values against those pitch types per Baseball Savant. The Mets have more or less waved the white flag to this point evidenced by the pre trade deadline fire sale. Dean Kremer was the beneficiary of some incredible run support throughout the month of July (6.2 RPG), but only managed to add a pair of wins to his record ultimately moving the righty to 10-4 for the year. He hasn’t taken down a decision in three straight starts, but should be in a position to get off the MLB odds schneid tonight with another dose of heavy run support.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Minnesota Twins
The Snakes demise was something I expected to occur at some point with the team playing way over its head through the first half of the baseball betting season. Well, Torey Lovullo’s troops have only managed three wins in their last 12 played games with the last coming in the series opener against the Giants; their first series opening win since July 18. I think they’ll be in a position to open a second straight series with a dub on Friday night when they send Merrill Kelly to the bump to square off against Bailey Ober and the also struggling Twins. Kelly has made two starts since coming off the IL and gone 0-1 with an 11:4 K/BB ratio while allowing 11 hits (1 HR) and 4 ER through 11 combined innings of work. While not very impressive, both outings occurred at home and he’s been at his best away from the warehouse the team plays in evidenced by a season-best 2.74 ERA and 3.00 K/BB ratio. Ober has been my guy all season, but the righty is currently in a rut having allowed 11 ER and 23 hits (5 HR) in his last three starts. Look for Corbin Carroll and co. to take advantage and kick the series off in the win column.
