July 12, 2023UFC Fight Night: Holm vs. Bueno Silva Picks, Predictions, and Odds
July 14, 2023Last Friday’s MLB Same Game Parlays ended up 1-2 over at PointsBet Sportsbook. The night kicked off with a solid 2-leg cash on the Braves and Glasnow under his pitching outs prop, but that was followed up with a 1-2 showing in the Reds/Brewers game with Corbin Burnes making a statement to hand Andrew Abbott his first loss of the year. While the Mets cashed in extras as slight dogs to the Padres, Justin Verlander couldn’t buy a strikeout. Here’s to coming out of the break strong with some winning parlay picks – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Cincinnati Reds
You know I’m going right back to the well with the Reds to kick off the second half of the season with the Brew Crew invading the GAB for another pivotal NL Central matchup. Tonight’s game marks the first of only six remaining matchups between these teams due to MLB’s ridiculous tinkering of the schedule. With Cincy owning a slim 1-game lead heading into the opener, you know darn well they’ll show up for this series; especially after allowing Corbin Burnes to secure his seventh win of the MLB betting season last time out. The righty was solid in spinning six innings of three hit (1 HR) and 2 ER ball with 6 K. However, T.J. Friedl and co. got to him for four walks and forced him out after only six innings and 90 pitches thrown. They darn near pulled out the comeback but left the bases loaded in the ninth. Graham Ashcraft doesn’t offer up much when taking a gander at his season-long stat lines, but the righty has led the team to two wins in each of his last two starts of which he surrendered just 2 ER through 12.2 IP. Milwaukee ripping him for 10 ER at the beginning of June paired with Cincy taking notes on what to expect for the rematch has me siding with the home team to get a leg up in the series.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. New York Mets
Maybe some extended rest does Justin Verlander some good. Maybe it doesn’t. Either way, the right-hander looked old as dirt to me his last turn in San Diego where he only gave up five hits and a pair of earned runs, but labored through those 96 pitches to get through six innings. What the reigning AL Cy Young award winner is offering up isn’t exactly what New York ponied up for when inking him to that insane two-year contract. Though the Dodgers are hurting in the starting pitching department due to injury, it’s not Julio Urias that I’ll be banking on in this one – though I think he shines! LA’s offense should have a jolly good time of it against the aging right-hander. No team in baseball betting has raked RHP harder than the Dodgers who average nearly 6.0 runs per game. On top of that, Baseball Savant states that they destroy the 4-seamer, slider, and curve! Urias has looked a bit shaky in his two starts since returning from the IL, but gets the benefit of NY being one of the worst in the league against southpaws (No. 27). I fully expect him to show out to start the second half!

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Kansas City Royals
We’ve had some recent success betting Tyler Glasnow props in the strikeout artist’s last two starts. We hit the over of his K prop against Seattle and he didn’t disappoint. Then we hit the under of his pitching outs prop last time out against Atlanta, and he failed to pitch through the sixth allowing us to cash in on the MLB odds. Most importantly, the Rays lost both matchups and he took the “L” in each instance. That makes it three losses and a no-decision in three of his last four starts, and that likely isn’t sitting well with the right-hander. As such, I’m expecting him to hit the ground running in the second half against a Kansas City offense he recently dominated by tossing five innings of 1 ER ball with a season-high 12 K back on June 25. It was one of his most impressive showings to date, and I expect the familiarity to make him that much more nasty than he already is. Though this Alec Marsh kid has looked decent in his first two starts since getting the call, I firmly expect Tampa’s offense to take out some frustrations on the youngster after closing the first half on a downer in dropping seven of eight.
