MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Sunday, April 21
April 19, 2024MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Saturday, April 20
April 19, 2024A brand new week of MLB betting action is upon us with a loaded 11-game slate offering numerous options for baseball bettors to get the week started off on the right foot. I’ve targeted three matchups and made some recommendations to utilize when formulating same game parlays over at Caesars Sportsbook in hopes of adding to the bankroll to kick off the week. Here’s to doing exactly just that – SLAM YOUR MAN!!
Bet Major League Baseball at Caesars Sportsbook
Milwaukee Brewers vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
Jared Jones immediately caught my eye in his season debut after racking up 10 K against the Marlins. While Miami has been largely unimpressive since, Jones has been anything but with the rookie flashing red across the board on his current player page over at Pitcher List. Seriously, it’s been wonderful plucking the righty off the waiver wire and confidently inserting him into my lineup with every passing start. I’ve been rewarded with 22 strikeouts and a pair of quality starts since. However, the kid has gotten next to nothing in terms of run support and owns a 1-2 record because of it. I’ll be betting on that run of bad luck ending tonight in the opener of this extended series against the road weary Brewers!
I can’t believe Joe Ross is still in the league. While he’s shown he has the stuff to compete, it doesn’t look to be sustainable as evidenced by seeing him unravel late in two of his three made starts. If his sinker isn’t catching the bottom of the zone on Monday night, he’ll be up stream without a paddle due to the Pirates crushing his other main offering that comes in the form of a slider per Baseball Savant. While it won’t be a walk in the park for Jones either with the Brewers excelling against his two main pitches in the 4-seamer and slider, this will be the first time Milwaukee will see his stuff live. As such, we’ll bank on Jones getting out to an early lead and make it last through five, while at the same time look for Ross to hold true to form and fall apart seemingly out of nowhere.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Kansas City Royals
The Royals have been a nice story at the outset of the 2024 campaign with Matt Quatraro’s bunch winning 12 of 19 games to put $368 worth of baseball betting profit in their supporter’s pockets. In doing so, KC’s rookie manager is the running +350 favorite to take home the AL Manager of the Year award at Caesars Sportsbook. I was all-in on the Royals having enough staying power to compete for the AL Central pennant heading into the season evidenced by investing on the over of what I deemed to be a laughable 73.5-game win total.
Brady Singer and his 2-0 record backed by a 1.54 ERA and 23:7 K/BB ratio has been one of the reasons why Kansas City has gotten out to such a great start. The entire starting staff is for that matter with it producing the most quality starts in the league (12). He’ll have his work cut out for him in this one however running up against a Blue Jays offense that’s plated 4+ runs in five of its last six games. Since getting ripped for six hits and 3 ER over 4.1 innings in his season debut at Tampa, Yusei Kikuchi has fired off 17.1 innings of 11 hit and 2 ER ball with 25 strikeouts and only five walks leading Toronto to a pair of wins over three starts. As tremendous Singer has been, his underlying stats paint the picture of a different pitcher. That’s not the case with Kikuchi who’s on fire right now enough to the point that I’ll ride the southpaw and the BJs in the series opener – hopefully at a nice plus-money return!

San Diego Padres vs. Colorado Rockies
I’m still licking my wounds from absorbing a huge loss on the over in Coors when Austin Gomber squared off against Tommy Henry in a pitching matchup I expected runs to hit the board with reckless abandon. It didn’t happen, and one of the reasons why was because of the showing Gomber put forth in hurling six innings of 2 ER ball with 4 K and only two walks. He followed that showing up with another decent showing after allowing six hits and 3 ER to the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. Make it stop baseball gods – Make It Stop!
The buck is likely end here running up against a Padres offense that lambasted Gomber a season ago peppering him for 21 hits (5 HR) and 12 ER through 16 innings over a trio of starts. Current sticks in the Friars’ lineup are batting .305 against him lifetime with Jake Cronenworth (.348 BA), Ha-Seong Kim (0.556 OBP), and Xander Bogaerts (1.111 OPS) proving to be enormous pests. Paired with San Diego’s enormous offensive advantage will be Dylan Cease toeing the bump in an attempt to churn out a quality start for the fourth straight time. His main deficiency has been walks (4.4/9), but Colorado owns a 7.6% walk rate (#26) and backs it up with the league’s 26th ranked K rate (26.6%). Regardless of this start coming in the thin air of Coors, this is a plus matchup that I expect Cease to take full advantage of.
