MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Sunday, August 6
August 4, 2023Illinois Approves Hard Rock
August 7, 2023Last Monday’s MLB Same Game Parlays ended up 1-2 over at BetRivers Sportsbook continuing what’s been an extremely tough stretch since the All-Star break. Corbin Burnes did his part tossing six innings of 2 ER ball at the Nats, but the Brew Crew’s sticks couldn’t solve Jake Irvin. Marcus Stroman and Andrew Abbott got lit up early with the end result being a trip to the IL for the former. Thankfully we closed the night out with a dub after George Kirby tamed the Red Sox back home in the comforts of T-Mobile. Let’s kick off a brand new week by adding to the bankroll with some same game parlay pick winners – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres
The wraparound series between the NL West rival Dodgers and Padres concludes from Petco with Tony Gonsolin set to square off against Seth Lugo. The former has done very little to get me excited this season with the righty 6-4 with a 4.11 ERA while sporting a paltry 2.03 K/BB ratio through 87.2 innings of work. While better on the road (3.49 ERA) than at home (4.59 ERA), Gonsolin has been raked along the coals under the sun evidenced by a bloated 7.40 ERA regardless of leading LA to road wins in each of his last two turns. Lugo on the other hand has impressed the heck out of me in every setting with the righty the owner of a 3.54 ERA that’s nearly in line with his 3.75 FIP. For reference sake, Gonsolin’s FIP clocks in nearly a run higher than his ERA which makes me think he’s ripe for an implosion; even with him more or less dominating this Padres lineup in the past. Lugo is the pitcher in better form and San Diego is the team that sorely needs to win this series to claw back into the wild-card hunt currently sitting 5-games out. Gimme the home team!

Atlanta Braves vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
The Braves will be installed hefty road chalk on the MLB odds for this series opener against the Buccos with Spencer Strider currently the odds-on +225 favorite to win the NL Cy Young Award over at PointsBet. Even so, I have no reservations hitting Atlanta on the run-line here with his opponent scheduled to be none other than Osvaldo Bido who enters the eighth start of his MLB betting campaign 2-2 with a 5.18 ERA giving up nearly 10 hits and walking nearly 4.0 batters per nine innings. Pittsburgh’s right-hander has been nothing short of a nightmare within PNC where his ERA clocks in at a robust 8.40 by conceding 14 ER through 15.0 total innings pitched. So long as Ronald Acuna Jr. and co. doesn’t suffer from a nasty hangover from the weekend’s festivities in Wrigley, they should take full advantage of the batting practice stuff Bido throws their way. Though the Pirates have been around league average to set down on strikes (No. 19), I fully expect Strider to hang a crooked number with the righty going for no fewer than nine punch-outs in each of his last eight trips to the bump.

New York Yankees vs. Chicago White Sox
Like the Mets, the Palehose are a team to fade right now with upper management waving the white flag the week of the trade deadline. It’s a sad state of affairs on the south side of Chicago, and I don’t foresee things getting much better to kick off the week with a Yankees squad sorely in need of stockpiling wins in town for the first of three starting tonight with Gerrit Cole set to square off against Dylan Cease. The former is the decided favorite to take home his first Cy Young Award in the AL while the latter was supposedly on the block last week with Chicago looking to improve the roster for the future. Cole recently threw a seven inning gem at the Rays to lead New York to the must-have 7-2 victory. Dating back to the beginning of July, the Yankees staff ace has gone 6+ innings in each of his last six starts. Cease has only seen the sixth twice during that same stretch and was just lit up for 7 ER through 1.2 innings in his most recent start. Though the Yanks’ offense has been extremely hit or miss for the better part of the last few months, Aaron Judge’s absence had much to do with that. He’s back and I think it’s only a matter of time until the Bombers start ripping the cover off the ball again.
