June 28, 2024MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Tuesday, July 2
July 1, 2024We set the tone for last week by sweeping each and every one of Monday’s MLB parlay picks. Though Chris Bassitt and Max Fried each got pushed up or back, we still managed to cash all four remaining parlay legs mostly due to Tanner Houck and a game effort put forth by the Cardinals. Though Toronto made it interesting late and Alex Cora likely asked a bit much of his right-hander sending him out for the seventh inning, the Red Sox held on for the 7-6 win to cash in on the MLB odds and go over their team total at Caesars Sportsbook. Houck also exceeded what I thought was a laughable 5.5 K prop by going for seven. St. Louis also made things interesting late, but ultimately held on for the 4-3 win in the series opener against the Braves. Hopefully the baseball gods treat us as kindly to kick off the week with Monday’s truncated slate – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Houston Astros vs. Toronto Blue Jays MLB Same Game Parlay:
The Astros are white hot right now having logged seven straight wins against the MLB betting odds to pull within 4.5-games of the AL West leading Seattle Mariners. Rewind all the way back to May 1st, and Joe Espada’s bunch brought up the rear of the division sitting 10-games under .500 and looking down and out in doing so. Since then, Houston has amassed 30 wins and 20 defeats to climb all the way back to .500 after sweeping the Colorado Rockies at Minute Maid in the mini 2-game interleague series. Their bats have been scorching hot over the recent win streak in averaging 6.8 runs per game, while the starting staff and bullpen have been locked in as well.
Also scorching hot has been Hunter Brown! The right-hander has led the Astros to wins in each of his last four starts by holding the Angels, Tigers, White Sox, and Rockies to just 16 hits (1 HR) and 1 ER with a K/BB ratio of 29:7 over 25.0 combined innings of work. We backed Houston on the run-line in his most recent start against the Rox, and he did us a solid by tossing six innings of shutout ball. While I’m not sold on this output holding up against the upper echelon offenses in the league, Toronto hardly strikes fear in opposing pitchers these days with it ranked amongst the bottom third of the league in the most pertinent of offensive stat categories and entered the extended weekend series with the Yankees 1-6 and averaging 4.3 runs per game over the last week. With Yariel Rodriguez and his bloated 5.94 ERA and 1.920 WHIP on the bump, the BJs are gonna need well more than that to stick around with a determined Houston outfit looking to remain on the incline.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Colorado Rockies MLB Same Game Parlay:
If you’ve been following my work throughout the 2024 MLB betting season, you know how excited I get whenever Austin Gomber takes the mound for the Rockies. We’ve faded the left-hander on the MLB odds in nearly every one of his 15 made starts to date, coming out well ahead as he holds a 1-5 record, with Colorado winning just three of his last 13 outings since starting with two wins to kick off the season. After losing all five of his June starts, Gomber will be a moderate-sized home underdog against the Brewers in the series opener at Coors Field.
Despite Milwaukee’s strong record in the National League and their division-leading status, I’ll throw caution to the wind and back the Rockies in a big way. Why? For starters, Bryse Wilson isn’t an arm I’m overly confident in, even with a 5-3 record and 3.89 ERA. His FIP is nearly a run higher (4.88), and he averages just 2.27 K/BB. His 3.2 walks and 1.5 home runs allowed per nine innings are concerning. The Brewers are also coming off a series against the rival Chicago Cubs at a buzzing Miller Park. Transitioning from such an intense environment to the morgue that Coors Field has been will be sobering to say the least. Additionally, Gomber showed resilience in his last loss to Houston, managing to pitch into the sixth inning despite giving up five runs in the first. In his prior start against the Dodgers, he was denied a win due to a missed third-strike call that led to a Teoscar Hernandez home run, allowing LA to score seven runs in the ninth inning. The baseball gods owe him one, and I believe they’ll deliver that makeup win on Monday night.
