We had no business splitting last Monday’s MLB Same Game Parlays at BetRivers Sportsbook! We would’ve swept the board had Philadelphia been able to hold onto its 5-1 third inning lead with it easily surpassing its team total and plating 5 ER against Tommy Henry. J.T. Realmuto went for the cycle and the Phillies still couldn’t win! Then of course they take the next two. With the SGP in Seattle cancelled due to the Mariners pitching change, we ended up in the green after Cincinnati defeated the Royals and went over its team total in the process. Toronto Blue Jays vs. Miami Marlins
If a fan of pitching, you’re going to want to tune into all three games of this series between the Blue Jays and Marlins! It kicks off Monday night with the flaming white hot Jose Berrios and his 3.28 ERA set to lock horns with the underrated Edward Cabrera who’s been a completely different pitcher throwing in the comforts of LoanDepot Park. When toeing the home bump, No. 27 has been sensational in allowing just 22 hits and 9 ER with a K/BB ratio of 42:16 through 31 total innings of work. The opposite holds true for Berrios whose ERA is 1.5 runs higher as a visitor while serving up over 8.0 hits per nine. Miami has been one of the better bets in the league ($753) and one of the reasons why is because of its ability to defend its house (21-13). I like the Marlins in the opener and expect Cabrera to live up to his yearly trend of being an arm to confidently rely upon when at home.
MLB SAME GAME PARLAY: MARLINS MONEYLINE + BERRIOS UNDER PITCHING OUTS
Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Milwaukee Brewers
Corbin Burnes has largely failed to live up to his lofty preseason expectations. If you remember, the burly right-hander was one of the favorites to win the NL Cy young Award heading into the MLB betting season. BetRivers is currently offering him up at 17-1! Even so, the Brew Crew’s staff ace is starting to revert back to his dominant self. Through three June starts and 20 total innings pitched, Burnes has allowed 11 hits (2 HR) and 6 ER with a K/BB ratio of 24:5. He’s already got eight shutout innings thrown at the Snakes when Milwaukee went into the desert and came out with the 7-1 victory. Merrill Kelly continues to be the rock within Arizona’s starting rotation with the righty entering his 15th start 8-3 with a 3.04 ERA all the while allowing 6.3 hits, 1.0 home runs, and fanning 9.7 batters per nine innings. Walks have been a problem area (3.7/9). He was on the short end of that loss to Burnes when they squared off earlier. That should have him even more motivated to shine on the road where he’s only conceded 8 ER through 34.0 total innings of work. These pitchers put goose eggs on the board through five before it all went sideways in the sixth, and I expect another pitcher’s duel to play out in the rematch.
MLB SAME GAME PARLAY: FIRST FIVE INNINGS UNDER + KELLY OVER PITCHING OUTS + BURNES OVER K PROP
Texas Rangers vs. Chicago White Sox
It’s highly likely Mike Clevinger doesn’t make this start after leaving Wednesday night’s outing in Tinseltown early with a biceps injury. It doesn’t matter. We’re fading Andrew Heaney in this spot after paying for doing so in his most recent turn at home against the Angels. He departed that one with the bases loaded after throwing 95 pitches just to secure 11 outs. Luckily for him, Anthony Rendon popped out to get him and his ERA off the hook. Now serving up 7.7 hits and 4.2 walks per nine innings, the left-hander’s 4.05 ERA is starting to catch up to his 4.79 FIP and that’s not a good thing. While Chicago has been nothing but poisonous to our MLB betting bankroll all season, I expect them to show up big for the opener and set the tone for the series. If they don’t take this one, they’ll be hard-pressed to win the series with Eovaldi going Tuesday night. With that, look for Luis Robert Jr. and co. to be locked in and ready to smash.
