May 3, 2024National League MVP Award Odds to Target at Caesars Sportsbook
May 3, 2024Had the Phillies been able to hold on for the win after taking a 3-0 first inning lead, we would’ve swept the board with last Monday nights parlay picks. Unfortunately, the bullpen let the Halos back in to win it 6-5. We did however sweep the other two same game parlay recommendations. Joe Ryan and Garrett Crochet cashed each of their player props and the game played to a comfy low scorer with the Twins eking out the 3-2 win. We closed the night out in style when Seattle never gave up even after being shutout through seven innings to log the walk-off 2-1 win with Max Fried and Bryce Miller cashing each recommended prop. Let’s kick off another week by cashing more parlay legs over at Caesars Sportsbook – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Detroit Tigers vs. Cleveland Guardians Same Game Parlay:
A big series opens up at Progressive Field on Monday night when the AL Central rival Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Guardians cross paths for the first time this baseball betting season. Both sides will undoubtedly be jacked for what on paper looks to be a competitive battle with Jack Flaherty going for the visitors and Triston McKenzie hurling for the home team. The former was robbed of a win last time out after tossing 6.2 innings of shutout ball with 14 K against his former team in the Cardinals, while the latter also took a no-decision after spinning seven innings of 2 ER ball with a 6:1 K/BB ratio at Houston.
Cleveland dominated this rivalry a season ago winning eight of the 12 overall meetings which included coming out on top five of the seven times it hosted Detroit. That being said, I believe the Tigers are much improved and will be looking to set the tone of the series with its pitching staff that’s come up spades so many times this season. The Guardians have already started to experience a dose of negative regression in dropping its last two series, while Detroit has rattled off four straight series wins since dropping three of four at Texas in mid-April. Flaherty has really taken to his new digs while I believe McKenzie continues to pitch injured and get away with it – not tonight!

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Kansas City Royals Same Game Parlay:
Get your popcorn ready for this one with arguably the best pitcher’s duel of the night set to go down between Freddy Peralta and Cole Ragans. The Brewers staff ace was ejected from his most recent start after it was deemed he threw at a batter. He has since been suspended five games by the Commissioner, but Peralta is appealing the decision. That garbage aside, Peralta is in the midst of a potential Cy Young Award worthy campaign with the right-hander 3-0 with a 3.21 ERA and 12.0 K/9. Milwaukee has come out on top in each of his six made starts with the over cashing against the closing MLB total odds four times.
Not to be outdone, the Royals southpaw also finds himself in the discussion of taking home the AL Cy Young Award clocking in with the third shortest odds at Caesars behind only Corbin Burnes and frontrunner Tarik Skubal. He’s led Kansas City to wins in each of his last two starts after throwing 11.2 combined innings of seven hit and 2 ER ball with a 13:6 K/BB ratio. The under has cashed at a 5-1-1 clip in his seven made starts with the lefty only conceding an earned run or fewer in three of his last four starts. This has anything you can do I can do better written all over it, so we’ll hit the full game under and look for both starters to get the job done props wise as well.

San Diego Padres vs. Chicago Cubs Same Game Parlay:
Wrigley will serve as the House of the Rising Sun on Monday night when the Padres and Cubs open a three-game series with a pair of Japanese imports toeing the bump. Yu Darvish will get the starting nod from the Friars in his second start since returning from the IL, while NL Rookie of the Year Award contender Shota Imanaga will get the ball for his seventh turn in the rotation. Darvish returned to the mound at home against Cincy and tossed five shutout innings with 3 K to log his first win of the baseball betting season. As for Imanaga, he moved to 5-0 with a miniscule 0.78 ERA and 8.3 K/BB ratio after throwing seven scoreless innings at the Mets with a 7:1 K/BB ratio and only three hits allowed. His 0.78 ERA ranks out as the fourth lowest through the first six career starts in MLB history!
Chicago dropped two of three to San Diego in Petco back in early April. While it got destroyed in the series finale, it had absolutely no business losing the opener after getting out to what I thought was an insurmountable 8-0 lead only to shockingly lose 9-8. They jumped all over Darvish in that matchup touching the righty up for four hits and 4 ER while also registering a trio of walks. That being said, Chicago’s offense has been listless with both Cody Bellinger and Seiya Suzuki out of the mix with it averaging just 3.7 runs over its last 10 games. Having yet to see Imanaga’s stuff, I fully expect San Diego’s offense to struggle as well leading to a low scoring battle in the opener.
