UFC Odds – UFC Fight Night: Luque vs. Dos Anjos
August 10, 2023Seattle Seahawks Season Win Total Odds, Pick & Prediction
August 10, 2023Look at that! We finally put an end to the “Saturday Scaries” by cashing both MLB Same Game Parlays at BetRivers Sportsbook to kick the weekend off with a bang. Though Christopher Sanchez gave up 6 ER through 5 IP, he tallied 7 K and still helped lead the Phillies to the 9-6 win over the Royals. The night closed out with another SGP cash with Blake Snell and the Padres in their only win of the series against the Dodgers. The play in the Marlins/Rangers game was scratched with both Martin Perez and Edward Cabrera demoted to the pen and Triple A respectively. Let’s see if we can bang out some more parlay winners today – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

New York Yankees vs. Miami Marlins
The Marlins jumped back into the wild-card picture by taking two of three from the Reds in the GAB which included storming back to steal Wednesday’s finale. The series win was only the teams second since the All-Star break, but it could’ve laid the groundwork for some positive regression to hit Skip Schumaker’s club throughout the remainder of August. Miami is currently the third team in with 46 to play. It just doesn’t look to be in the cards for the Yankees this baseball betting season. Aaron Boone has been forced to deal with a myriad of injuries that simply never let up. Since Aaron Judge returned, the lineup has lost the services of Anthony Rizzo, Josh Donaldson, and potentially D.J. LeMahieu for this series. Though there’s still plenty of power in the front half of New York’s batting lineup, the back half is an utter joke. The Marlins offense continues to hit the ball (No. 3), but can’t turn those hits into runs (No. 26). The scenario sets both Nestor Cortes and Sandy Alcantara up for success which leads me to believe LoanDepot Park will be privy to a tremendous pitcher’s duel Saturday afternoon.

San Diego Padres vs. Arizona Diamondbacks
I get that the D’backs can’t hit their way out of a wet paper bag right now with the offense averaging just 1.9 runs over their last 10 games, but Corbin Carroll and co. will get a major batting average boost in the form of Rich Hill for this one. The lefty has been peppered for 25 ER and 41 hits over his last 33 innings of work, and has failed to reach the sixth inning in each of his last four starts. Arizona has plummeted in the NL West standings now sitting 10 games out, but its .500 record only finds it 5-games out in the wild-card chase. With that, this is a spot staff ace Zac Gallen must come through in and I’ll be ponying up some of my hard earned money to expect him to do just that. The righty was robbed of a win last time out after tossing seven innings of 2 ER ball at the Twins in Minnesota, and he’s been dominant versus the Padres through two starts to date in allowing nine hits (2 HR) and 4 ER with a dominant 14:1 K/BB ratio over 12 combined innings. If the Snakes are to ever bust out of their offensive funk, this would be the spot to do it.

Texas Rangers vs. San Francisco Giants
While the Rangers remain one of the more lucrative teams to back on the MLB odds with it $781 in the black for the season, I’ll be fading the AL West frontrunners against a Giants team looking to hold onto its wild-card status with it back in the comforts of Oracle Park since taking three of four from Arizona to kick off the month of August. While Andrew Heaney looks to be an improved pitcher now that Texas has gotten ahold of him, I still don’t think he’s an arm that can be trusted. He’s an extreme fly-ball pitcher that offers up 3.6 walks and 1.6 home runs per nine innings. While his home/away splits are nearly identical, he’s been very mediocre both on the road (4.15 ERA) and at night (4.54 ERA) which is exactly the scenario for start No. 23. The exact opposite is true of Alex Cobb who’s been at his absolute best both at home (1.46 ERA) and under the lights (1.90 ERA) all the while logging 3.57 strikeouts per walk. Most importantly, the Giants simply just win with the right-hander on the bump evidenced by their 15-6 overall record the 21 times he’s led them into battle. The Giants also clock in 19-12 versus LHP and have seen plenty of Heaney through the years from his time spent with the Angels and Dodgers. Look for the home team to hold serve in the meat of this interleague set.
