UFC Odds – UFC 292: Sterling vs. O’Malley
August 17, 2023MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Sunday, August 20
August 18, 2023We ended up cashing two of three MLB Same Game Parlays at BetRivers Sportsbook to kick off the weekend in the green. The Yankees and Marlins played to an easy under with limited scoring throughout allowing us to cash both team totals under the number. That was followed up with another ticket cash on Zac Gallen and the D’backs who logged the 3-0 shutout win over the Padres with the NL Cy Young Award frontrunner also exceeding his K prop. We failed to bust out the brooms however after Texas laid into Alex Cobb to close out the night. Let’s see if we can bang out some more parlay winners today – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Kansas City Royals vs. Chicago Cubs
It’s exciting times on the Northside of Chicago right now with the Cubs jumping back into possession of the third and final wild-card slot after walking it off against the White Sox on Wednesday night. However, the offense has taken a step back this past week which was to be expected after lighting it up against the Reds and Braves the week prior. I could be playing with fire here fading Cody Bellinger and co. on the MLB odds against a Royals team that sports arguably one of the worst pitching staffs in the history of the league. However, I got to give it the ‘ol college try early on with a red hot Brady Singer on the bump looking to lead KC to a fifth straight win in just as many starts. The righty has allowed 14 hits (1 HR) and 7 ER with a 26:5 K/BB ratio over his last 27 innings of work. Each of his last three starts were of quality and he went at least 6.2 innings against the Mets, Red Sox, and Mariners. Though Chicago has come out victorious in all but one of Justin Steele’s starts dating back to the beginning of June, Chicago’s staff ace hasn’t been his dominant self lately and Bobby Witt Jr. is swinging a hot stick.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Washington Nationals
Jake Irvin was an arm we routinely faded earlier this baseball betting season with extreme success. We faded Washington and bet the over countless times in May and padded the bankroll because of it. Then it all changed; abruptly. All of a sudden, the right-hander was striking batters out and going deeper into games. So much so that he’s now averaging 7.3 strikeouts per nine innings with 29 percent of his starts being of quality. He’ll surprisingly take the bump for the first time in his career against the Phillies, and I think he’ll put the Nats in a position to cash in as moderate sized home dogs. We backed Christopher Sanchez a few weeks back at home against Kansas City. While Philly won the game and covered the run-line in the process, it wasn’t due to the starting pitcher’s performance. Sanchez has been ripped for 12 hits and 8 ER in his last two starts spanning 11 total innings against the aforementioned Royals and Twins. He’s also served up 6 HR in his last four starts. Washington has proven to be one of the best bets in the game to date ($1,675) and has been feisty of late splitting its last eight while averaging 4.3 runs per game.

Detroit Tigers vs. Cleveland Indians
Progressive Field will be privy to one of the more underrated pitching matchups of Saturday’s MLB betting slate when Eduardo Rodriguez squares off against Tanner Bibee in the third game of this extended four-game series. The former got shelled his last time out in Beantown where the Red Sox blasted him for 10 hits (2 HR) and 6 ER through five innings of work. The poor showing saw his personal two-game win streak go by the boards which dropped him to 8-6 for the season. E-Rod has been one of Detroit’s most consistent starters in the rotation, and I firmly expect him to bounce back in this spot knowing full well he’s already tossed 15 innings of shutout ball at Jose Ramirez and co. to date to go along with a solid 18:2 K/BB ratio. The latter is currently on a heater having allowed a grand total of 10 ER through his last 49.1 innings. He’s also been at his best at home where he’s 5-1 with a 1.70 ERA while limiting the opposition to a .170 batting average. Of the two losses earned to date, one came against the Tigers in his first career start against them back in early May. I expect a much better showing this time around!
