MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Friday, July 28
July 27, 2023MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Sunday, July 30
July 28, 2023It was back-to-back poor showings for my MLB Same Game Parlays over at BetRivers Sportsbook last Saturday after failing to get into the win column a second straight day. Shane McClanahan shockingly got rocked for 5 ER by the O’s after cruising with two outs in the fourth at home, and then Logan Webb got destroyed by the Washington Nationals of all offenses. Jesus Luzardo destroyed his K prop and led the Marlins to the win, but his start got pushed back to Sunday. Let’s see if we can bang out some parlay winners this Saturday – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Minnesota Twins vs. Kansas City Royals
Happy Jordan Lyles Day! We faded the Royals right-hander in his last turn in New York where the Yankees got to him for nine hits (2 HR) and 5 ER through his five innings of work. The outing ended a string of two starts where MLB bettors that blindly failed his pitcher props came up empty handed after the vet only allowed nine hits and 1 HR with a 9:1 K/BB ratio. But those outings came against the offensively challenged Guardians and Tigers who rank amongst the worst in the league in most statistical categories. That won’t be the case in this start running up against a Twins offense that rakes RHP to the tune of a .746 OPS (No. 10) for an average of 4.7 runs per game. My guy Bailey Ober will oppose him looking to log win No. 7 and improve upon his 2.76 ERA and stellar 90:18 K/BB ratio. He took a no-decision in a matchup with Lyles back on April 29 when he tossed 5.2 innings of 1 ER ball at Kansas City. Coming off a series loss to the Mariners, I expect Minnesota to pull out all the stops against a Royals team it’s won nine of ten 2023 meetings against while averaging 5.8 runs per game.

Chicago Cubs vs. St. Louis Cardinals
It finally looks like the switch has flipped for Cubs right-hander Jameson Taillon whose led Chicago to three straight dubs and logged a pair of personal wins over his last three starts. While not fully enamored with what he brings to the table considering he still allowed 15 hits over those 20+ innings of work, the righty still only allowed 4 ER and walked four while racking up 14 strikeouts. Throwing at a team in back-to-back starts will however likely be a recipe for disaster, and that’s something I’ll be banking on when these hated rivals square off against the MLB odds in the third game of this series with Adam Wainwright taking the bump for the home team. As such, I expect runs to come in waves even though the Redbirds veteran showed well in his first start off the IL against a stumbling Arizona outfit. Cody Bellinger and co. already stomped him for 11 hits (2 HR) and 7 ER when he threw at them in London at the end of June. The dude was launching sub 90 heat at the Snakes and got away with it! That won’t occur tonight as locked in Chicago’s offense has been in averaging 7.6 runs per game over the last week.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
If this series goes as planned, the Dodgers will have gotten out of the chute with a baseball betting win behind Bobby Miller in Friday’s opener. As stated in the blurb for that same game parlay, we’ll be reversing course in game two and back the visiting Reds to even the series up with Luke Weaver set to square off against Emmet Sheehan. Though Weaver’s 7.20 ERA and 12.2 hits allowed per nine leaves much to be desired, he’s shown some minor improvement through his four July starts. Most importantly, Cincinnati has come out on the right side of the scoreboard in all but one of his last 10 starts! Sheehan has issued more free passes than strikeouts in each of his last two starts, and served up 13 hits and 12 ER in those 8.2 combined innings of work. Runs are likely to be there for the taking for both squads all night long, yet Los Angeles will be installed an inflated home chalk simply because they’re the Dodgers. I expect both sides to get theirs, but also expect the Redlegs to find a way much like they had recently before just dropping two of three in Milwaukee with the Brewers pitching staff holding them in check.
