MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Friday, June 23
June 22, 2023MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Monday, June 26
June 23, 2023We laid another egg with last Saturday’s MLB Same Game Parlays at BetRivers Sportsbook making it back-to-back weeks that we failed to cash a single SGP in. Louie Varland’s start got pushed to Sunday so our day started in Washington where the Marlins scored the 5-2 win with Braxton Garrett logging the quality start, but Miami came a run short of exceeding its team total. The matchup in the desert was a tough watch with Jose Ramirez and Josh Naylor leaving what felt like 100 runners on base. The end result was a 6-3 loss that pushed the full game total, but it was Arizona that did most of the heavy lifting. It’s retribution Saturday so let’s bang out some parlay winners – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Cleveland Guardians
A pair of second place teams will go at one another in the second of a three-game interleague set Saturday afternoon when Freddy Peralta squares off against rookie right-hander Tanner Bibbee. We’re yet to see one of the Brewers premiere arms put forth a bust out performance this MLB betting season, but this could be it. Cleveland has struggled mightily versus right-handed pitching in averaging 3.6 RPG (No. 30) with a .688 OPS (No. 27) and enters this tilt a single game over .500 at home (-$172). Peralta is slowly but surely recovering from a nightmarish month of May that saw his ERA jump up to 5.61. He’s trimmed a full run off that output through four June starts, and has only allowed five hits through 11 combined innings over his last two starts. While three of those hits left the yard, no team has hit fewer long balls than that of the Guardians (No. 30). With Bibbee failing to see the sixth inning in each of his last four starts and right-handed pitching the preferred platoon split of Milwaukee (No. 12), look for the Brew Crew to give Peralta some rare run support that puts him in position to tally a win for the first time in over a month.

Boston Red Sox vs. Chicago White Sox
Lance Lynn registered a career-high 16 strikeouts and only gave up 3 ER in his last start at Seattle. I’ll pay up to see if he can do it again versus an unforgiving Red Sox offense that could go off if in fact the burly right-hander reverts back to the form of his prior three starts that saw him serve up 22 hits (6 HR) and 17 ER while walking seven and fanning 14 against the Angels, Yankees, and Dodgers. I think the showing had plenty more to do with the Mariners offense still being lost than things starting to click for the veteran right-hander. Boston ranks fifth in OPS versus RHP (.777) and averages 5.1 runs per game (No. 6). It just continues to not click for the Pale Hose who just dropped their fourth straight series to Texas to fall eight-games under .500 costing MLB bettors over $1200. Things don’t figure to get any easier tonight versus James Paxton who’s done nothing but shine for the BoSox in going 3-1 with a 3.29 ERA while registering an insane 12.0 strikeouts per nine innings. Three of “The Big Maple’s” four road starts have been of quality, and his June ERA sits at an impressive 2.33 through three starts against similarly ranked offenses as Chicago’s. I just don’t foresee Lynn being long for this one with Boston likely to pepper him right out the chute!

Los Angeles Angels vs. Colorado Rockies
The Angels will invade the Rocky’s stark raving mad after just getting swept and shutout at home by the in-state rival Dodgers. Hello Coors! In doing so, Mike Trout and co. saw their series winning streak get snapped at four. I think they’ll be in an excellent position to start up a new streak through the weekend as I already recommended backing the Halos in Friday’s series opener with Sandoval on the bump. While not the biggest fan of Griffin Canning, the righty is seemingly in a groove right now having allowed three or fewer earned runs in each of his last six starts. Each of his last three road starts has been of the quality variety, and the Rockies enter this series with a skeleton crew offensively due to most of their big bats currently on the IL. As hotly contested the AL West pennant race figures to be the remainder of the season, the Angels can’t afford to not win every game of a series like this. It’s high time this team finally starts laying the wood, and I firmly expect the Angels to take some frustrations out on Chase Anderson and whoever else toes the bump once he gets hooked early.
