May 9, 2024New Caesars Sportsbook Planned for Monmouth Park
May 9, 2024Last Saturday’s MLB parlay picks hit the ground running after nailing the 3-leg SGP on Toronto who also went over their team total with Kevin Gausman only conceding three hits through his 5.1 innings and 112 pitches thrown. Unfortunately we only cashed two of three legs in the Padres/D’backs SGP when it looked like we’d cruise to the ticket cash through six innings. The under ended up getting blown out of the water in the seventh when San Diego nauseatingly plated eight runs. Brandon Pfaadt did however manage to log a quality start for the third time in his last four outings. Let’s see if we can’t get all selections to the finish line at Caesars Sportsbook with another Saturday installment of parlay picks – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Miami Marlins MLB Same Game Parlay:
The money train that Ranger Suarez is conducting moseys on into South Beach for a late Saturday afternoon tilt with the division rival Marlins. The left-hander has fared well against the Fish throughout his career in going 4-2 with a 3.24 ERA and 1.39 WHIP while also going 3-2 with a 3.35 ERA and 1.49 WHIP over six lifetime starts at Marlins Park. As bad Miami has been overall paired with the fact that they stand a sickening 1-14 while averaging an impotent 2.7 runs per game against left-handed pitching (#29), Caesars will undoubtedly have the front running Phillies installed exorbitant favorites to come out on top of this matchup.
That still won’t prevent me from backing them on the run-line and hit the over of their team total with Bryce Harper and co. set to stare back at the gas can that’s proven to be an ineffective Sixto Sanchez whose done nothing to rectify the Marlins issues in the starting rotation since coming out of the pen.

Houston Astros vs. Detroit Tigers MLB Same Game Parlay:
The Tigers stand 8-12 versus the Astros since A.J. Hinch became the franchise’s manager back in 2020. He’ll no doubt have his men ready to go to war through the weekend when Houston pays Comerica Park a visit for the only time this baseball betting season. Taking each team’s respective record out of the equation, Detroit is simply the better overall team right now. As such, don’t come away the least bit shocked when Tarik Skubal is lined a midrange favorite to come out the victor in the second game of the series. The right-hander is yet to take a loss in going 4-0 with a 1.90 ERA while allowing a paltry 5.7 hits per nine innings and logging 8.8 K/BB through seven made starts. Make no bones about it, Skubal deserves to be the odds-on favorite to win his first Cy Young Award!
Pitching both on the starting bump and in the bullpen is what’s plagued Houston to this point, and Hunter Brown has been a major contributor to the weakness. While Detroit’s offense leaves a bit to be desired, Brown’s been at his worst away from Minute Maid evidenced by a shocking 19.96 ERA and .511 batting average against. Look for Skubal to shine and get the run production needed to earn his fifth win of the season.

Cincinnati Reds vs. San Francisco Giants MLB Same Game Parlay:
I expect the Reds to enter the second game of the series looking to even it up after recommending a flier be taken on Logan Webb and the Giants last night. That being said, I’ll reverse course here and recommend backing Cincinnati in tonight’s nationally televised matchup with David Bell set to send Nick Lodolo to the bump to make his sixth start of the season. Though the left-hander let us down on Sunday at home against the Orioles, Baltimore has ripped the cover off left-handed pitching and made the most of its damage regardless of No. 40 only allowing four hits and striking out six through his five innings of work.
San Francisco will prove to be a much easier test with the Giants just 3-6 and averaging 3.3 runs per game (#27) while batting .244 with a .308 on-base percentage against LHP. Cincinnati has recently gotten some much needed reinforcements back onto the roster over the last week, and I still feel the Reds will have a major say in how the NL Central shakes out. Regardless of knowing who the Giants will counter with at the time of this writing, it’s Cincy or nothing for me with its staff ace on the bump.
