MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Saturday, April 27
April 26, 2024Saturday, April 27 NBA Playoff Parlay Picks
April 26, 2024Not the greatest showing for my MLB parlay picks to close last week out. Sonny Gray did his thing registering 12 K and only allowing 2 ER through 6.1 innings, but the Cardinals could only muster six overall hits and lost 2-0. Thankfully Rea only logged 3 K. Seattle decided to save all its thump for the second game of the doubleheader and lost 2-1 in extras to the Rockies. Seriously, how is it possible no runs are scored through nine innings in a game at Coors? Humidor or no humidor! We closed the day out with a moneyline cash at Caesars Sportsbook with the D’backs though all but one of the runs and hits were unfortunately accrued after Hicks departed. Let’s close this week out in style – SLAM YOUR MAN!!
Bet Major League Baseball at Caesars Sportsbook
St. Louis Cardinals vs. New York Mets
Fingers crossed the top arms in both bullpens are used heavily in the first two games with this one possessing all the makings of a rare Sunday shootout. Lance Lynn’s 2.81 ERA and 1-0 record is as laughable as it gets with his FIP clocking in at 4.44 while allowing 25 hits (4 HR) and only 8 ER through 25.2 total innings pitched. Jose Quintana has been equally as mediocre, but his 4.21 ERA and 4.75 FIP has equated to a 1-2 record that’s only seen the over cash in one of his five made starts.
Though St. Louis has proven to be great under bets for total bettors (15-8), it’s sticks have been more potent against LHP (4.2 RPG) than against RHP (3.3 RPG) as well as on the road. On the flipside, the Mets have been one of the better over bets with it cashing in 13 of their 24 played games. Since the offense started hitting the baseball effectively, New York has played to high scorers in 11 of its last 18 games. The recipe for both offenses to excel will be there early Sunday afternoon. Hopefully an ump with a tight strike zone nestles in behind the dish to bring it home!

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. San Francisco Giants
Oh baby let’s go – it’s Jared Jones Day and we ain’t jumping off this money train just yet! The Buccos flamethrowing K artist took care of us to kick off the week by tossing six innings of 1 ER ball while tallying another 7 K to score his second win of the baseball betting season. This kid’s player page at Pitcher List is a sight to behold! He’s velocity ranks No. 5, swinging strike percent No. 1, called + swinging strikes No. 3. If you can believe it, he’s already registered 100 whiffs through 29.0 innings of work and that’s simply insane!
Anytime I can back him and hit the over of his K prop against an opponent yet to face his stuff, I’m taking that opportunity. There will come a time when Caesars posts a line that offers value on the opponent, but that won’t be the case in this pairing with Keaton Winn who also gets the benefit of the Pirates never seeing his splitter/fastball combo. As such, I’m thinking runs are tough to come by early before the pens take over.
MLB SAME GAME PARLAY: PIRATES MONEYLINE + FIRST FIVE INNINGS UNDER + JONES OVER TOTAL PITCHING STRIKEOUTS
Minnesota Twins vs. Los Angeles Angels
Pablo Lopez has been nothing short of heinous for the Twins and his prop bettors through five made starts in going 1-2 with a 4.39 ERA. But while the record and ERA are ugly, the surface stats look fine with the righty owning a 3.61 FIP, 4.83 K/BB, and 1.050 WHIP all the while conceding just 7.4 hits per nine innings. This should be a get-right spot against an Angels offense that’s been heavily reliant upon Mike Trout’s red-hot stick to average 4.2 runs per game (#16).
Reid Detmers’ home/away splits are notable. His ERA is a run and a quarter less tossing in the “Big A” where he’s the owner of a 3.79 ERA and .225 BAA over 32 lifetime starts. His 10.3 K/9 should fall in line nicely here running up against a Twins lineup that owns a 26.8% overall K rate. With that, I expect a pitcher’s duel to play out and for both starters to go deep leading to a combined score that finishes below the closing total.
