Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz Picks, Predictions, and Odds
August 4, 2023MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Monday, August 7
August 4, 2023We failed to cash either of last Sunday’s MLB Same Game Parlays at PointsBet Sportsbook to once again close the week in a miserable fashion. The nightmare day started off with both Tarik Skubal and Jesus Luzardo getting rocked and consequentially bounced early preventing us from cashing in on either hurlers’ K props. Graham Ashcraft dominated the Mookie Betts-less Dodgers who failed to tally a single run in the 9-0 whitewashing. The under positions in the Rangers/Padres games got wiped due to Nathan Eovaldi hitting the IL. Let’s attempt to close the week in the green with some parlay pick winners – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

New York Mets vs. Baltimore Orioles
The Mets are a team to fade right now with Pete Alonso and co. simply just going through the motions following their trade deadline fire sale. While the hunger to compete will begin at some point due to the self-respect factor, we’ll pile on while the getting’s good in this finale with the O’s. Kyle Bradish is an arm we’ve backed on a number of occasions over the course of the current MLB betting season, and I foresee the right-hander being in a solid position to add to his 7-6 record in this spot running up against Jose Quintana who is yet to run up against an excelled offense in his limited work to date. The White Sox, Yankees, and Royals can’t hold a candle to the onslaught the lefty will oppose this afternoon with Baltimore raking LHP to the tune of a .762 OPS (No. 11) while averaging 5.3 runs per game. The Orioles stand 25-12 ($1,370) in those matchups, and Bradish has been at his absolute best toeing the Camden Yards bump where he’s the owner of a 2.39 ERA and allowed just 13 ER with a 39:10 K/BB ratio over 49.0 innings of work. Look for the AL East leaders to close this series out in style!

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Minnesota Twins
We already faded the homebased Twins in the series opener Friday night with Merrill Kelly set to square off against Bailey Ober. Hopefully betting against ‘My Guy” saw us get into the win column! I think Zona will be in a position to take the series in Sunday’s finale with staff ace Zac Gallen on the bump. Though the D’backs SP1 has struggled on the road and failed to lead his team to a win in any of his last four starts, this looks to be as good a spot as any for the righty to get back in the thick of the NL Cy Young Award race after recently relinquishing his top dog status to Spencer Strider. No other team in the league strikes out more than the Twins (27.2%). Minnesota has managed to win just one of its last six games which included getting swept in Kansas City! Pablo Lopez was the lone starting pitcher to earn a win during that stretch after tossing six innings of 1 ER ball at the Cardinals in a 3-2 win. He’ll however have his hands full with a D’backs offense that fans at the third lowest rate in the Bigs (20.5%). With the strikeout a major reason why he’s produced a 59 percent quality start rate, it’ll be interesting to see how he adapts without having that advantage in his arsenal.

Atlanta Braves vs. Chicago Cubs
It hasn’t been confirmed just yet, but it’s looking like me and the fam will be taking this game in live from a Wrigley skybox. As such, I must have action on the game since that’s the type of degen I am ;). Even so, I likely would’ve anyway considering we’ve been involved in each of Justin Steele’s last three starts and cashed two of those three same game parlays in over at PointsBet. We ended up dropping the most recent one after he gave up 5 ER to the Reds, but how can you blame him for just throwing it in there after his teammates gave him 20 runs of support? The Cubs righty is currently the ERA leader in the National League, and I can’t help but think he’ll be way up for the challenge of taming the runaway truck otherwise known as the Atlanta Braves. Though Charlie Morton was a bit more hittable at the tail end of July, he still closed the month with a 3.15 ERA and will be looking to snap a personal three-game losing streak. Yet to concede a long ball to anyone on Chicago’s roster while racking up a 15:6 K/BB ratio, I think me and the fam will be privy to a classic pitcher’s duel that goes under the number.
