July 21, 2023MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Saturday, July 22
July 21, 2023We cashed two of last Sunday’s three MLB Same Game Parlays at PointsBet Sportsbook to close the week on a high. The lone loser proved to be in the finale of the Brewers/Reds series after both pitching staffs surprisingly got the best of both offenses. We recovered nicely however cashing a pair of 3-leg SGPs with Kyle Bradish and the Baltimore Orioles taking care of business against Miami to sweep the series, and the Astros/Angels busting out the whipping sticks late. Let’s close the week in the green with some more parlay pick winners – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Kansas City Royals vs. New York Yankees
Happy Jordan Lyles Day baseball bettors! The Royals have no shame and continue to send this washed up vet to the bump every fifth day with the hope that he can save the wretched bullpen from being called upon early. It hasn’t worked with Lyles procuring quality starts only 17 percent of the time. Shockingly, the right-hander has gone at least six innings in five of his last six starts, and will toe the Yankee Stadium bump having produced quality efforts in two of his last four outings. If you can believe it, he’s only allowed 1 ER on a home run in his 11 total innings pitched in the month of July. Does this mean he’s turned it around? I think not! While consistent offense has gone missing in the Bronx with the team averaging just 3.7 runs over the last seven games, this is a spot Gleyber Torres and co. should thrive in with Lyles’ road ERA clocking in at 7.36 and outings under the sun chiming in at 8.69. Though Luis Severino seemingly righted the ship last time out in Anaheim after getting ripped for 19 hits (3 HR) and 14 ER in his prior two July starts, he still surrendered a hit per inning and threw to a paltry 3:3 K/BB ratio. He’s still not all the way back and I fully expect Salvador Perez and co. to get to him as well.

Atlanta Braves vs. Milwaukee Brewers
Two hurlers that’ve achieved success with smoke and mirrors will square off in Sunday’s finale in the Land of Cheese with Bryce Elder opposing Julio Teheran in this potential playoff preview. Elder has been getting it done with a less than impressive sinker/slider combo relying upon called strikes with the former and whiffs with the latter. Ranked No. 118 in called + swinging strike rate and No. 96 in swinging strike percentage per Pitcher List, it was only a matter of time until this house of cards plummeted to the ground. That’s exactly what occurred in his two most recent turns with the righty getting peppered for 13 hits (3 HR) and 12 ER all the while walking five and only accruing four punch outs. Milwaukee has had its fair share of issues putting runs on the board against left-handers (No. 30), but that hasn’t been the case against RHP with it pushing an average of 4.6 runs per game (No. 13) across the plate. Teheran shocked the baseball betting world by being an arm to back through his first six starts, but the righty has crashed back to reality over his last three in serving up 17 ER and 5 HR over 16.1 combined innings. With the Braves off Monday, I fully expect Brian Snitker to go all-out to win this game which means the full assortment of Braves hitters should be in the lineup. Pray for Julio!

Chicago White Sox vs. Minnesota Twins
It’s been a minute since we last bet the MLB odds in a game involving the Chicago White Sox since they’ve been poison to my bankroll for as long as I can remember, but I have to get involved here. Before getting ripped for six hits (3 HR) and 8 ER by the Mets in his first turn out of the ASB, Lucas Giolito had only allowed 12 ER and fanned 48 while only walking 13 in his prior 44 innings of work. He managed to go six or more innings in all but one of those starts. As such, I think that effort in NY was nothing more than an anomaly and fully expect Chicago’s ace to revert back to his dominant form; especially against the Twins current lineup that he’s held to a .199 batting average and racked up 48 K to just 16 BB. Though Bailey Ober just failed to go over his K prop for us earlier in the week at Seattle, he remains an arm I’ll trust moving forward. Even after things got hairy early against the M’s in allowing three first inning runs, the righty settled down to toss five innings of shutout ball to help lead the Twins to the road win. Chicago’s only plated 15 ER against him through 40 career innings, and he’s held current bats on the White Sox roster to a .158 batting average while racking up a 23:2 K/BB ratio. The righty should be way up for this pitcher’s duel!
