MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Saturday, June 10
June 9, 2023Horse Racing Odds – 2023 Belmont Stakes Longshots
June 9, 2023Last Sunday’s MLB Same Game Parlays ended up 1-2 over at PointsBet Sportsbook as we split the two losers. Though Brayan Bello was scratched and moved to Monday, Taj Gibson still went on to lead the Rays to the series clinching win. Oakland looked like it would snap a three-game losing streak after getting out to a 5-0 third inning lead against Sandy Alcantara, but failed to score the rest of the way and lost 7-5. Joe Ryan went over his pitching outs prop, but the Twins ended up falling 2-1 to the Guardians. Let’s see if we can’t finally close the week in the green with some parlay picks – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Washington Nationals vs. Atlanta Braves
The Jake Irvin fade has proven to be the gift that refuses to stop giving. I’ll test this moneymaking trend once again on Sunday when the rookie squares off against the Atlanta Braves for the first time in his career. Though his three-game streak of conceding at least 1 HR came to an end last time out against Arizona, the right-hander has served up at least 3 ER in five of his last six starts. That trend is likely to continue in this spot against a Braves offense that’s raked RHP to the tune of a .753 OPS (No. 8) and scored an average of 4.8 runs per game (No. 8).
Irvin’s biggest obstacle to date has been serving up free passes evidenced by his 5.8 BB/9 and piss-poor 1.15 K/BB average. Though the Braves have been below average at taking walks (No. 18), some positive regression is likely to come in that department on Sunday afternoon. While not overly enamored with the overall body of work of Bryce Elder, this is simply just a straight fade of Irvin with the Nats losing each of his last five starts and the opposition averaging 8.6 runs per game in those contests.

Miami Marlins vs. Chicago White Sox
We faded the Marlins with Eury Perez in Friday’s series opener, and I’ll be firing right back on the White Sox in Sunday’s finale with a smoking white hot Lucas Giolito set to square off against left-hander Braxton Garrett. Fresh off tossing six no-hit innings at the Yankees in the Bronx on Tuesday night, Giolito will be gunning for a second straight quality start versus a Marlins offense averaging just over 4.0 runs per game against RHP (No. 22) with a sub-.700 OPS (No. 22).
While Chicago’s offense has been tough to watch as a whole with it ranked amongst the bottom third of the league in the most pertinent of stat categories, it’s fared much better versus LHP with its OPS over 100 points higher and it averaging half a run more per game. Garrett undoubtedly looks to be coming into his own with the southpaw ringing up 9.3 K per nine innings and his 3.96 FIP over a half run lower than his 4.47 ERA. He is however still serving up 9.6 hits and nearly 1.5 home runs per nine. Chicago’s the healthiest it’s been all season. No more excuses – they must take this series and it’ll be Giolito that gets it done!

Cincinnati Reds vs. St. Louis Cardinals
Following Thursday’s 6-0 shutout loss at the hands of the Dodgers, the Reds stand 29-34 overall and six games out of first place in the NL Central. It’ll be tough for Cincy to make up much ground throughout the rest of June with only one series set to be played against divisional opposition during that stretch. That one series just so happens to go down this weekend and I think Hunter Greene will take the bump on Sunday with the opportunity of leading his squad to the series win.
The Reds have already stared back at Adam Wainwright once to date and got to him for eight hits (1 HR) and 5 ER while only striking out twice and taking one walk. With the veteran failing to log a single quality start to date, it likely won’t happen in this spot either with the offense feeling itself now that Elly De La Cruz has made his professional debut and hit the ground running. I expect the ‘Natti to hang a crooked number and for Greene to be locked in after holding the Cardinals to just 15 hits (1 HR) and 8 ER while racking up a 29:9 K/BB ratio in his four made starts last season. He didn’t deserve to take the “L” in any of those starts and took a pair – He’ll be out for retribution!
