San Francisco 49ers Season Win Total Odds, Pick & Prediction
August 9, 2023Los Angeles Rams Season Win Total Odds, Pick & Prediction
August 9, 2023We hung a goose egg with last Thursday’s MLB Same Game Parlay Picks over at BetRivers Sportsbook with each defeat more crushing than the next. The day began with the White Sox plating three runs in the top of the first making the over of their 3.5-run team total almost a given. They lost 5-3. The Cubs plated four runs through the first three innings to send Weaver to the showers early as expected, but only ended up scoring once more in the 5-3 triumph which saw them just come up short of the team total. Then to top it all off, Shohei Ohtani left after the fourth without a run conceded and 4 K due to cramps. Had the SGP still been in play, it would’ve been a disgusting loss after Seattle plated four in the top of the ninth. That’s just how it’s been for us since the ASB. Let’s see if we can’t bang out some same game parlay winners on Thursday’s abbreviated slate – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Houston Astros vs. Baltimore Orioles
We confidently backed Hunter Brown and the Astros in the right-hander’s last start in New York where he tossed six innings of 2 ER ball through six innings to log the quality start and win No. 8 against the Yankees. That makes Houston a perfect 3-0 in his last three turns of which he registered a pair of personal wins, but I’ll be fading him on the MLB odds against an Orioles squad that will likely be gunning for the series win in this extended set on Thursday. The O’s unforgiving offense will be a tough nut to crack for the second-year hurler who is serving up 8.7 hits and nearly 3.0 walks per nine innings with the opposition batting .256 against him on the road with most of his solid appearances as a visitor coming against the likes of the Rockies and A’s (twice). Dean Kremer doesn’t look great on paper, but Baltimore just seems to win whenever he toes the bump. The Orioles have come out victorious in each of his last six starts and beaten the Mets, Yankees, Dodgers, and Marlins the last four times he toed the Camden Yards bump. Gimme the home team!
MLB SAME GAME PARLAY: ORIOLES MONEYLINE + BROWN UNDER PITCHING OUTS
Atlanta Braves vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
The Braves hold what looks to be a solid advantage in the starting pitching department over the course of this series with the Pirates. While Bryce Elder has grossly disappointed his fantasy supporters that thought they mined a gem earlier in the MLB betting season, he’s by far the better of the two arms in this matchup regardless of Bailey Falter looking aight in his Buccos debut after allowing six hits and only 1 ER through 4 IP in Milwaukee. This guy has been on my auto fade list since he broke into the Bigs back in 2021 and that won’t change now that he’s strutting his stuff in a better pitcher’s park. Of his 16 registered outs against the Brew Crew, ten came by way of fly balls. As nasty an offense Atlanta possesses, I can’t help but think Austin Riley and co. find a way to make some of their fly balls reach the cheap seats. While Elder is fully capable of allowing Pittsburgh to hang with the righty serving up at least 5 ER in half of his last six starts, I’ll pay up to see if the Buccos poverty offense can pull off the feat.
MLB SAME GAME PARLAY: BRAVES RUN-LINE + BRAVES OVER TEAM TOTAL + FALTER OVER EARNED RUNS
Toronto Blue Jays vs. Cleveland Guardians
After running up against some live arms through the first three games of this extended series, I expect the bats for both the Blue Jays and Guardians to flex their muscles in the finale; even with it being a noon start. Though it hasn’t been nearly as ugly for Alek Manoah in his return to Toronto’s starting rotation, it looks to me like the former stud has been getting it done with smoke and mirrors with walks continuing to be a major concern (6.0/9). With Jose Ramirez possibly suspended and Josh Naylor not returning to the lineup anytime soon, this looks to be another cushy matchup for the beleaguered right-hander with oddsmakers at BetRivers likely to post suppressed totals across the board. Not so fast my friend! The Tribe will counter with Noah Syndergaard which means Cleveland will likely be chasing on the scoreboard throughout after just allowing 4 HR in his most recent turn. Opportunities should be made available for both offenses to hang crooked numbers in a game I foresee playing out as one of the more entertaining of Thursday’s baseball betting slate.
