Green Bay Packers Season Win Total Odds, Pick & Prediction
July 26, 20233M Open Matchup Picks
July 26, 2023Last Thursday’s MLB Same Game Parlay Picks ended up 2-1 over at BetRivers Sportsbook and came the Tigers scoring two more runs away from sweeping the entire board! Zac Gallen and Spencer Strider kicked the lucrative day off by playing to the early pitcher’s duel as expected until things went sideways in the seventh inning. Corbin Burnes went into CBP and dominated by tossing eight innings of shutout ball at the Phillies to lead Milwaukee to the impressive 4-0 shutout. Michael Lorenzen was stellar versus the Royals, but the offense wasn’t after only plating three runs on a total of six hits against Zach Greinke and KC’s wretched pen for five innings. Let’s see if we can’t bang out some same game parlay winners on Thursday’s extremely abbreviated slate – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Washington Nationals vs. New York Mets
It’s mindboggling to think about, but the New York Mets and their $252+ million dollar roster only possess five more wins than the division rival Washington Nationals whose payroll is 4.5 times less. Talk about getting more bang for your buck! Regardless, tonight’s game kicks off the extended four-game series with the Mets looking to get back into a groove following the Subway Series with the hated Yankees. You’d expect a bit of a letdown from the Mets following that series, but the team simply can’t afford to let that occur. As such, they get the benefit of having a surging Kodai Senga take the bump for the opener with the Japanese import looking to improve upon his 7-5 record and 3.27 ERA while at the same time lead his teammates to a win for the third time in the last four tries.
After getting banged around a bit in June, the righty has been rock solid through three July starts in allowing 11 hits and 4 ER with a K/BB ratio of 24:4 through 17.1 innings over three starts. He’s been at his best at home (2.50 ERA) as well as under the lights (2.86 ERA), so he stands to improve upon his 39 percent quality start percentage running up against a Nats offense ranked No. 22 overall that’s launched the third fewest home runs in the league. Josiah Gray has been hurling a confident brand of ball since the end of June and enters start No. 21 off tossing a gem at San Francisco in which he threw seven innings of 1 ER ball. That being said, I’ll pay up to see if he can do it again against Pete Alonso and co. who’ve raked him to the tune of a .340 batting average and .1.096 OPS with eight of the 16 hits allowed going for extra bases. I don’t foresee him being long for this one which will allow NY to beat up on Washington’s pathetic bullpen.

Chicago Cubs vs. St. Louis Cardinals
Since returning from the IL in the middle of June, Justin Steele has made a total of seven starts. The Cubs went on to win all but one of those outings with the right-hander scratching the win column four times. Though St. Louis gets the benefit of running up against him for the second time in as many starts, the Cardinals haven’t been able to do much of anything against him the two most recent times they opposed him. He tossed six innings of 1 ER ball with 8 K at them in London, and then followed it up with 6.1 innings of 2 ER ball and 9 K last Friday. Through a trio of 2023 starts (18.1 IP), Steele has pitched to a 2.95 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and .254 BAA all the while logging a 20:5 K/BB ratio.
Since dropping all five of his June outings, the Cardinals have alternated wins and losses the five times Miles Mikolas toed the rubber in July. Chicago raked him for 11 hits and 5 ER through five innings when he threw at them on the Northside last Saturday. He’s been consistently mediocre against both left and right-handed bats, and just had all kinds of issues with the top-half of Chicago’s lineup. I don’t foresee much of anything changing in this go-round. Steele is making a name for himself as one of the best young right-handers in the game. Mikolas is at best a No. 4 in a solid rotation. Look for Chicago to go into Busch and immediately set the tone for this crucial series by giving a max effort behind their ace.
