MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Friday, May 17
May 15, 2024PGA Championship Matchup Picks
May 15, 2024Nightmarish is the only way to describe what went down with last Thursday’s MLB parlay picks. The day started off with the abomination that turned out to be the matchup between the Mariners and Twins with the latter plating five first run innings against Logan Gilbert to immediately blow the full game under out of the water. Thankfully, we did manage to cash in on the over of Pablo Lopez’s total pitching strikeouts prop. Then after the White Sox got Ben Lively for three runs in the first two innings, it would be all the runs they’d score yet still managed to hold on for the 3-2 win costing us a ticket cash on the over. Hopefully were not in such a giving mood this time around and can take it to Caesars Sportsbook with more parlay picks on another limited Thursday slate – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Chicago Cubs Same Game Parlay:
Jared Jones let us down last week when he toed the PNC bump against the Cubs. Though he only gave up 2 ER through six innings, for one reason or another the elite fireballer was unable to send Chicago down via the strikeout in amassing a grand total of four. The negative regression monster has noticeably paid him a visit in that stat category recently evidenced by him going 3, 10, and 4 over his last three starts, but I expect him to hang a crooked tally in this axe to grind rematch with the Cubs who’ve gone down on strikes at a near 25% clip when in the comforts of Wrigley Field.
Speaking of pitching with a chip on your shoulder, Justin Steele will make his fourth start of the year fresh off getting peppered for six hits (3 HR) and 6 ER by the weak hitting Buccos when they debuted Paul Skenes this past weekend. After shutting out a much more formidable Padres offense through 4.2 innings in his return from the IL, that showing was nothing if not an anomaly. Steele stands 17-10 against the MLB odds with a 3.12 ERA and 204:62 K/BB ratio through 38 career starts in the “Friendly Confines,” and I fully expect him to get back on track against a Pittsburgh squad that for one reason or another has gotten the best of him throughout his 4-year career.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Same Game Parlay:
Earlier in the week, it was noted that Tyler Glasnow would make his tenth start of the baseball betting season in the finale with the Giants against Logan Webb. Unfortunately, that doesn’t look to be the case any longer with the K artist expected to toe the bump in the opener of the extended four-game series with Cincinnati. Even better! LA’s prized offseason acquisition has tallied double-digit strikeout tallies in each of his last two starts and three of four and now gets to run up against the free-swinging Reds who own the fourth-worst K rate (25.6%) in the Bigs. With that, I’ll expect the right-hander to be in line for a third straight high K tally in an attempt to log his seventh win of the year.
Easier said than done however with the Redlegs trotting a starting pitcher to the bump that I’m quite fond of in Nick Lodolo. However, Cincy’s left-hander has regressed terribly since the calendar turned to May in going 0-2 with a bloated 6.55 ERA after going 3-0 with a 1.88 ERA and 31:6 K/BB ratio throughout four April starts. The strikeout has still been utilized as a weapon evidenced by his 12:3 K/BB ratio, but he could have issues in that department tonight with Los Angeles only striking out 21.6% of the time (#11). Lodolo has only received a run of support in each of his last two starts, and his offense is likely to have issues tonight with it ranked dead last versus right-handed pitching (.216) that’s equated to 4.3 runs per game. With runs extremely tough to come by and Glasnow proving to be an innings eater with every passing start, look for the Dodgers to hold serve and take the series opener in a commanding fashion.
- DODGERS RUN-LINE
- DODGERS OVER TEAM TOTAL
- GLASNOW OVER TOTAL PITCHING STRIKEOUTS
