August 12, 2024MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Wednesday, August 14
August 12, 2024We posted back-to-back 1-5 showings on the diamond with last Tuesday’s MLB parlay picks to give some back after beating BetMGM Sportsbook like a drum the prior week. Thanks to the Mets pulling an absolute no-show in the opener of the three-game set with the Rockies, we failed to cash any of the three recommended legs regardless of chasing Kyle Freeland before the fifth. Six of the game’s nine runs were scored in the first five innings with Pablo Lopez and Shota Imanaga on the bump – Doh! Thankfully the latter finished below his ER prop to prevent us from taking the collar. Let’s do better tonight with another edition of same-game parlay leg recommendations – SLAM YOUR MAN!!
Reduced juice betting is one of the best ways for any sports bettor to save money and far too many people don’t take advantage of it. If you are not playing at a sportsbook that offers reduced juice betting then you are simply giving away money.

Chicago Cubs vs. Cleveland Guardians MLB Same Game Parlay:
Things have gotten a bit harry in Cleveland where the Guardians once comfy lead atop the AL Central has been trimmed to a few games. Coming off a crucial four-game series against the Twins, Stephen Vogt’s crew might need a game to get its bearings back, but I fully expect Jose Ramirez and his mates to be locked in for the second game of this interleague set Tuesday night. That spells trouble for Javier Assad who has been nothing short of horrific since July. Though the Cubs have cashed in against the closing MLB odds four of the last five times he toed the starting bump, it’s mostly been due to the offense and bullpen bailing him out. Only once in the righty’s last four turns has he seen the fifth inning while compiling a wretched 11:12 K/BB ratio over 17.1 total innings.
If that’s not worrisome enough, how about the fact that Cleveland has absolutely teed off on his pitch types? The Guardians own a number of eye-popping run values per Stat Cast against the sinker and 4-seamer. It hasn’t been the same story against the cutter, but evidenced by the longevity of Assad’s recent starts, that offering hasn’t quite been up to snuff of late. With that, I’ll blindly back the home based Guardians even without knowing who the listed starter is at the time of this writing. So be it if Chicago finds a way to win a fifth straight Assad start – I’m paying up to see it! Cleveland sits 15-games over the breakeven point as a host ($665), and I’m still having a tough time buying into the Cubs who enter the series winners of four straight with it needing to hold on for dear life to get the best of the pitiful White Sox over the weekend.

Seattle Mariners vs. Detroit Tigers MLB Same Game Parlay:
Though the Mariners and Tigers each saw the respective starters set to go this evening less than a week ago, I don’t foresee the end results to differ much as dominant each hurler proved to be in the first go round. Though George Kirby was gotten for a pair of moonshots amongst the seven hits allowed over his five innings, the righty still racked up 7 K and issued a lone free pass. Though he’s failed to pitch through the sixth inning in his last two starts, I don’t believe fatigue is an issue. He’s been at his absolute best under the lights (2.72 ERA) of which he’s allowed 78 hits (11 HR) and 29 ER with a 99:11 K/BB ratio over 96.0 combined innings. Detroit’s batting .228 (#27) as a team against right-handed pitching to date; an output that plummets all the way down to .206 over the last two weeks (#30)!
After getting peppered by the Royals and costing us a parlay leg position on the baseball betting odds, Tarik Skubal – the runaway favorite to win the AL Cy Young Award – was back to his dominant self against these same Mariners. The righty registered win No. 13 after holding Seattle to just three hits (1 HR) and 2 ER while racking up 9 K through his seven innings. Save for that aforementioned start against Kansas City and one against Cleveland back in early-April, the Tigers’ staff ace has been lights out at home where he’s allowed 47 hits (5 HR) and 19 ER with an 82:17 K/BB ratio through 71.0 overall innings. He’s held current M’s bats to a collective .197 batting average against and racked up a healthy 19:4 K/BB ratio. Even with the additions Seattle inserted into the batting lineup, look for Skubal to flourish and hang another lofty strikeout tally in the process. Need I remind you, Seattle is batting .214 against RHP (#28) to go along with a 26.7% K rate (#26)? Look for both arms to put on a show in this one!
