May 13, 2024The Phillies handed Jose Berrios his worst beating of the season to kick off last Tuesday’s parlay picks ultimately handing us an ugly 0-2 showing after the first five innings under got blown up and the righty only lasted 3.2 innings. We were in position to make that unit back and some in the second SGP after Colin Rea exceeded his ER prop and Seth Lugo went 6.2 IP to topple his outs recorded prop, but the closer blew it by serving up three runs in the ninth to cost us the Royals moneyline leg. That was a tough pill to swallow! May the baseball gods be kinder with tonight’s parlay leg recommendations at Caesars Sportsbook – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Cleveland Guardians vs. Texas Rangers Same Game Parlay:
The Texas Rangers’ pitching staff is in shambles right now. From the starting bump to the bullpen, Bruce Bochy’s squad is hurting. Making matters even worse has been an offense that’s struggled mightily over the last week. Save for the 12 and 15 run explosions against the A’s, Texas has plated an average of just 2.8 runs in their other five played games. Enter Ben Lively and his stellar 2.63 ERA and 1.21 WHIP that’s backed by an even more impressive 3.17 FIP. However, a deeper inspection of his overall body of work finds all but one of the five offenses he’s run up against rank out amongst the worst in the league.
While Texas is currently in a funk, its offense still rates out as one of the best in the game with it averaging a healthy 5.5 runs per game against right-handed pitching (#3). Marcus Semien and co. will undoubtedly be thrilled to get back into their own ballpark after just closing out a lengthy 10-game road trip in Colorado where it mustered a grand total of six runs against the Rockies pitching staff in Coors. The offense will likely need to hang a crooked number to come out on top of this one with a struggling Michael Lorenzen set to make his sixth start. The righty has served up at least one home run in four straight starts and issues an average of 4.3 walks per nine innings. Each offense should get their tonight leading to a high scorer!

Colorado Rockies vs. San Diego Padres Same Game Parlay:
Dylan Cease just had himself a good ‘ol time in Chicago where he tormented the Cubs once again to the tune of seven shutout innings, and nearly matched his career high with 12 K to earn his fifth win against the baseball betting odds. Having already thrown seven innings of 1 ER ball at the Rockies with 8 K back on April 22 in the thin air of the Mile High City, the right-hander could be in line for another showing that shortens his odds to win the NL Cy Young Award even more. Caesars currently has the 28-year old lined as a +650 dog to take home the honors behind the likes of Shota Imanaga (+600), Tyler Glasnow (+450), and Zack Wheeler (+300). Regardless, another quality start is likely running up against Colorado’s feeble offense (#23) with the Phillies being the only team to get to him over his last seven trips to the bump.
I don’t know how Cal Quantrill has been doing it, but the righty has only surrendered one or fewer earned runs in four of his last five starts. I don’t foresee him escaping the wrath of a locked in Padres outfit that enters this series having come out on top in eight of its last 11 games after just taking two of three from the hated Dodgers. San Diego has gotten the job done recently with its pitching staff. It’s high time Manny Machado and co. gave it some relief and allowed for the team’s arms to work in a carefree environment. The Friars offense has done its best work against RHP in averaging 5.3 runs per game (#5), so I fully expect it to erupt and allow Cease to go deep benefitting from a number of low-stress innings.
