MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Sunday, September 3
September 1, 2023NFL Week 1 Thursday Picks, Predictions, and Odds
September 4, 2023We ended up cashing two of three MLB same game parlays at BetRivers Sportsbook last Tuesday night. The night started off with a cash in the Boston/Houston game after the Astros logged the 7-3 win over the Red Sox to take the first two games of the series and go over their team total in the process. Then the Mariners went over their team total in the 6-3 win over the White Sox. The lone loser proved to be the Baltimore Orioles who dropped a 6-3 decision to Yusei Kikuchi and the Blue Jays with the F5 under also going up in flames. Let’s see if we can add to the bankroll once again with some Tuesday night parlay pick winners – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Houston Astros vs. Texas Rangers
The Astros just got swept in their home digs against a desperate Yankees outfit looking to make a late-season run into the playoffs. Because of failing to defend their house, the team lost hold of the top seed in the AL West and will now be forced to go into the Rangers house looking to fend off Texas in the wild-card race. Both teams currently hold the No. 2 and No. 3 slots and sit a single game out in the division pennant race. With that, the pressure will be turned up quite a few notches when Framber Valdez leads them into battle against Dane Dunning in the second game of this pivotal three-game series from Globe Life Field. The Rangers continue to mash LHP to the tune of 6.2 runs per game (No. 2) and .815 OPS (No. 3), and they’ve had the Astros ace’s number lighting the lefty up for 12 hits (2 HR) and 7 ER through a pair of 2023 starts. Though Texas has dropped each of Dunning’s last four starts and he’s been ripped for a .288 BAA and .826 OPS against current Astros bats, I just think the Rangers find a way to rise up in this series and protect their turf.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Oakland A’s
The Blue Jays aren’t coming back to challenge either Tampa Bay or Baltimore for AL East bragging rights sitting 10.5-games out with only 25 games remaining on the docket. As such, their only hope of punching a ticket to the postseason and potentially going over the 88.5-game season win total at BetRivers is to concentrate on snagging one of the three AL wild-card slots. Currently 1.5-games out of the third seed, Vlad Guerrero Jr. and his mates will have nobody to blame but themselves if they can’t cut into that deficit this week with three games set to go in Oakland before returning home to host the Royals before the Rangers and Red Sox come a calling. If ever there was a time to eat into that deficit, it’s now with Chris Bassitt returning to his former stomping grounds where he’s the owner of a 14-13 record with a 2.46 ERA and .218 BAA through 40 career starts and over 263 total innings of work. Zach Neal is yet to see the sixth in either of his two made starts since being stretched out and allowed eight hits (3 HR) and 5 ER with an 8:5 K/BB ratio. That means Toronto is likely to take a number of hacks against the A’s league-worst bullpen. Look for runs to come in bunches!

Philadelphia Phillies vs. San Diego Padres
The Phillies just got their jets cooled by the Milwaukee Brewers who took two of three in Miller Park over the weekend. No harm, no foul. Philadelphia still holds a 2.5-game lead over the Chicago Cubs for the top wild-card in the National League. They’ll close the current road trip out in beautiful San Diego where they’ll square off against a disgrace of a Padres team that’s grossly failed to live up to preseason expectations on the MLB futures odds. Things haven’t gone too swimmingly for Michael Lorenzen since throwing that no-no against the Nats with the righty serving up eight hits and at least 3 ER in each of his last three starts. Juan Soto and Co. figure to be another tough test even with the Friars averaging just 4.3 runs per game against RHP. Pedro Avila has been serviceable overall pitching to a 2.67 ERA and 37:13 K/BB ratio through nine overall appearances, but hasn’t pitched through the fifth in any of his three made starts. With that, I’ll look for the starting pitching to hold serve early on before Philadelphia finds a way to pull the win out against San Diego’s overmatched bullpen.
