Caesars Palace Springs into April Bonus Action
April 8, 2024Bankroll Budgeting
April 9, 2024Mother Nature wreaked havoc upon last Wednesday’s MLB parlay picks after the Braves/White Sox and Tigers/Mets games each got rained out. We did however cash both suggestions made in the matchup between the Royals and Orioles with Kansas City cashing as mid-range underdogs and the combined score staying under the total in the first five innings. Let’s look at some matchups locked in for Wednesday, April 10 and see if we can’t come up with some more winning legs to add to our same game parlays over at Caesars Sportsbook – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Minnesota Twins
The Dodgers head into the Twin Cities in an ornery mood after dropping their first series of the season to the Cubs on the Northside of Chicago. Meanwhile, Minnesota has come out a winner in just one series through three tries since taking two of three from the Royals to kick off the MLB betting season. Bobby Miller got rocked in his most recent appearance, but I think nerves got the best of him coming back home to throw in Wrigley for the first time in his career. I expect him to have settled down in turn three and revert back to the dominant flamethrower that cruised in his season debut against the Cardinals. Through two starts, Miller has racked up 14 strikeouts equating to a K/9 that clocks in at an absurd 16.4 through 7.2 total innings. The Twins own a collective 26.7 percent K rate (#27), and have had issues with 4-seamers, changeups, and curves out of the gate. That lines up perfectly for Miller to shine and help lead his team to the dub in the finale with the offense likely to give him plenty of run support against Chris Paddack whom Mookie Betts and Co. have ripped for a .549 slugging percentage and .864 OPS.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Colorado Rockies
The D’backs will likely be in a position to sweep the series from the division rival Rockies on Wednesday afternoon with Zac Gallen and Merrill Kelly getting the starting nods in the first two games. That being said, Coors can always level the playing field which finds us targeting the total for some same game parlay legs at Caesars with Tommy Henry and Austin Gomber set to square off against one another for the second time this season. The first showdown in the desert saw the lefthanders combine to serve up 12 hits (3 HR) and 9 ER with neither hurler pitching through the fifth inning. Though it’s early, both Arizona and Colorado have thrived against southpaws with the former batting .319 (#2) and averaging 8.0 runs per game (#2) and the latter hitting .247 (#15) and averaging 5.8 runs per game (#7). The over stands 7-2 with an average of 12.2 runs scored per game between the two teams. Fingers crossed we get an ump with a tight strike zone to settle in behind the dish with Henry (4.0 BB/9) and Gomber (6.2 BB/9) struggling to control their stuff early on. Should positive regression fail to show, I expect both of these offenses to have a good ‘ol time and keep the scoreboard operators busy.

Houston Astros vs. Kansas City Royals
The magic fairy dust will wear off Seth Lugo at some point, but the righty is hot right now so we’re taking a stab against the visiting Astros game two of this series. While Houston will likely be itching to get back in the box to face his stuff after opposing Cole Ragans the previous night, we won’t back down as consistent Lugo has been out of the chute while his opponent on the mound, Hunter Brown, has struggled to find consistency. I get that the Royals offense is a much different animal than the one Brown threw at in his first two turns, but until he stops giving up hits in bunches (15.4/9), his right arm is one I’ll take a shot at fading. Lugo’s logged a pair of quality starts in his first two showings against the Twins and White Sox. While neither offense is one to be feared right now, it’s not like the Astros have ripped the cover off the ball to start the year either. Regardless, KC will be home dogs which makes this bet worth taking a flier on.
